Students arrive at Ballroom Dance of NJ seeking to learn the elegant art of social dancing, a tradition carried on by Russia natives Sergei and Olga Bezrodnov. The husband-and-wife team has taken home numerous Russian and U.S. championship titles, and the two are committed to sharing their passion for dance with the community.
Having experienced how ballroom dancing can promote both physical and mental well-being, the Bezrodnovs teach adults, children, and entire families how to gracefully navigate the dance floor. They coordinate events where couples can demonstrate their skills in styles such as the foxtrot, waltz, tango, cha-cha, and swing, preparing soon-to-be-wedded couples for their big day and singles to pass the time in malfunctioning elevators.
As founder and clinical director of Acupuncture Health Associates, Dr. Andy Rosenfarb leads a licensed, pain-punishing team of acupuncturists that helps patients overcome an array of troubling conditions. Fifteen years of acupuncture experience guide the doctor's sure hands as he inserts thin needles at key points on the body's energy meridians, dislodging blockages that disrupt the flow of qi, or energy, to vital organs. When energy flows freely, the body maintains a balanced state of wellness and allows the individual to lead an active lifestyle, with less time spent hobbled by health concerns and more time spent winning freestyle rap battles. Acupuncture has been shown to treat a wide range of conditions—Dr. Rosenfarb specializes in care for degenerative eye conditions, such as cataracts and glaucoma, and coworker and licensed acupuncturist Vanessa M. Guinet specializes in women's health and reproductive issues.
In her previous life, Danielle Conner was a professional dancer. But while touring extensively around the world, she developed chronic bursitis and tendonitis in both of her shoulders, and had to turn to physical therapy to correct those issues.
During her therapy, Danielle was introduced to various Pilates-based exercises. The practice made such a positive impact that she began practicing Pilates after her therapy ended. Wanting to share the power of Pilates with others, Danielle earned her certification as an instructor, and now serves as the resident Pilates instructor for various Cirque du Soleil shows. She also runs Pilates Design Studio, where she leads both private and group classes.
A good gym often resembles a forest, with canopies of crossing metal bars, pulleys, and weights. Snap Fitness boasts a few more jungle-like attributes than most, with a stretch of green turf floor ideal for sprinting and dragging exercises. Clients shed sweat throughout the gym, aided by personal trainers who stop by to provide bits of advice or hour-long sessions of one-on-one attention. Once they've learned to use the weight equipment properly, members can head to the cardio theater for and jog or cycle while watching a favorite show.
At Life Strength & Health Holistic Center, the therapists and clinicians feel that everything—the physical, mental, energetic, and spiritual—is connected. To honor this holistic mindset, they tap into all of these areas in order to address any number of issues including insomnia, indigestion, or weight gain. They then gather that information and incorporate it into their all-encompassing services. Detox programs ameliorate internal hygiene while minimizing stress.
