Joe Butler doesn't do things halfway. When he wanted to learn to be a physical trainer, he went to LA, trained with some of the top trainers in the world, and began training pro athletes and movie stars. Then he opened his own personal training gym, where he assembled a team of trainers with a combined 200 years of training experience. These days, he and his trainers lead guests of all fitness levels through training programs that include boot-camp, speed-and-agility, and RX Fit classes. Every student who walks into Prescription Fitness is treated to a health assessment and goal-setting consultation, allowing clients to slim down, bulk up, or prep for javelin season.

Whispering Pines Dental’s experienced team corrects crooked smiles with ClearCorrect—a combination of highly advanced, 3-D computer graphics and the spells of old-fashioned orthodontia. The ClearCorrect process eschews cumbersome braces for clear, removable aligners that are virtually invisible to the unclothed eye. An initial exam, including x-rays, photos, and impressions of your mouth terrain, paves the way for a flurry of calibrated teeth sheaths that are designed to slowly shift walnut crackers into perfect alignment. ClearCorrect's brand of invisible braces straightens dental dandies in fewer stages than Invisalign due to greater movement from each clear tray. Its material remains slightly less noticeable and will not cloud with usage.

Apples have an incredible range of colors, flavors, and textures. Jonathan apples, for example, are tart with firm flesh, and Cortland apples are tender, yielding fruit with a hint of spice. Five generations of the Dodd family have mastered these distinctions at Hillcrest Orchard, the 90-acre farm where honeycrisp, jonagold, and stayman winesap apples hang heavy on branches in a palette of sunset hues. As the air cools in the fall, pumpkin vines wither, leaving behind the vibrant gourds near peach trees and a kids’ play-area. Visitors pluck apples from trees, watch the scenery slip past on a hayride, or wander through a 4-acre corn maze. Chatter in the farm's store drifts amid plank shelves laden with cake and cobbler mixes, candles, and old-fashioned candies such as licorice or sepia-toned lollipops.

Families have been enjoying fresh fruit and vegetables from Red Wagon Farm

for almost half a century. In its earliest days, Red Wagon was simply a small family-owned roadside market selling fresh produce to passers by. But these days, it's a far larger operation, selling crops as diverse as sweet corn, watermelon, tomatoes, hot peppers, and plums, and even inviting guests to join in the fun by picking their own strawberries from the farm's fields every June.

But while Red Wagon Farm has a lot to offer throughout the year, it really comes alive each autumn with the return of its annual pumpkin festival. Weekend revelers will find a whole host of fall-themed activities, including wagon rides, face painting, and a kids' hay maze and jumping area. A bigger challenge comes in the form of the corn maze, where groups try their best to navigate through the farm's five acres of twists and turns. Afterward, kids and adults can search the grounds for the perfect pumpkin to turn into a jack-o'-lantern, pie, or back-up bowling ball.
