La'Dira MedSpa's crisp, white, contemporary interior, with its jazzy splashes of lime green, greets guests, who stop by for treatments ranging from massages to peels. The technicians specialize in a few signature services, such as microdermabrasion, radiofrequency body-contouring therapy, and oxygen facials.
NV Medical Spa’s technicians have collectively performed more than 20,000 laser hair-removal treatments. That's 20,000 times they've fired up their equipment and shone its pulsating beams into follicles to shut down hair production on the back, neck, face, and abdomen. With so much success in this arena, it's hardly surprising the spa's two locations have rushed to adopt other light-based treatments; their IPL technology also treats acne, veins, and scars. But as with stock-car-pushing races, machines don't do all the work. Fueled exclusively by Dermalogica products, the spa's seven facials reduce blemishes and wrinkles and slough off dead skin cells, leaving faces looking fresh and youthful.
For more than a decade, the highly trained technicians at Vaughan Laser & Anti-Aging Clinic have performed a range of advanced medical and aesthetic treatments. Dermal fillers, chemical peels, and Thermage treatments help technicians erase sun spots, fill wrinkles, and tighten skin. These nonsurgical therapies aim to restore youthful complexions in the event that clients cannot find the fountain of youth. The staff also employs lasers to reduce the appearance of cellulite and hyperpigmentation.
Between glass doors and walls of printed damask, Beauty Bar Laser Clinic's technicians use cosmetic lasers to treat a client list that includes models, actors, and 2005's Miss Universe, Natalie Glebova. They specialize in whitening teeth, removing hair and cellulite, and resurfacing complexions. During complimentary consultations, the technicians determine the best treatment plan for each client, and ensure that Miss Universe contestants from parallel universes don't wear the same dress.
Dr. David Ellis pulls double duty as a professor in the Department of Otolaryngology (head and neck surgery) at the University of Toronto and as the physician at the helm of Art of Facial Surgery. At the latter, he oversees a staff of plastic surgeons, aestheticians, and laser technicians as they refurbish patients’ outward appearances. Their mission is to achieve the best results for their clients through a combination of proven treatments and patient education. Technicians use specialized lasers to remove unwanted hair, tighten skin by promoting the growth of collagen, and entertain patients with light shows choreographed to Journey’s greatest hits.
Second Skin Med Spa, helmed by licensed medical aesthetician Rose Cruz, pampers and retouches skin while adhering to stringent safety and sanitation standards. Cruz draws on more than 14 years of experience of practicing medical aesthetics in Vancouver and Toronto to perform chemical peels, banish acne, and care for diabetic feet, a specialty she learned at the North American School of Podology. IPL laser hair removal leaves skin smooth, and fractional skin resurfacing and photofacials help to fade fine lines and restore a youthful appearance without requiring one to eat play-doh. The spa also treats nails with relaxing manicures and pedicures that promote foot health and include a soak in a sanitary pipeless tub.
In the waiting room, a grid of circular mirrors reflects teal and white decor as clients sink into a wide couch with pillows. During pedicures, guests can rest on a plush white couch, stretch an arm over an ebony side table, and inhale gentle aromas from a diffuser in the corner.
