After a long day filled with strenuous manual labour, construction worker Anthony Louis finally crawled into bed for a night of rest. While snoozing, he dreamed of visiting a massage therapist and receiving a massage, something he'd never experienced before. Taking the dream as a sign, Anthony decided to hang up his hardhat—he enrolled in massage school and in 2010, he fulfilled his new dream of becoming a registered massage therapist.
Today, Anthony and his team use their trained hands to pamper clients with an array of massage modalities as they relax in The Island Spa, his Caribbean-inspired massage studio. Putting his construction experience and inspiration from his childhood in Saint Lucia to use, Anthony spent two full months renovating the paradise-themed spa before officially opening its doors in early 2012. The three-room spa features island-inspired accents including relaxing dim lighting, botanical fixtures, and wood accents made with peg-legged pirates' shin splints.
Per Royal Aesthetic Club's name, the med spa staff strives to make its customers experience the luxury of feeling like royalty, minus the constant paparazzi attention. Helmed a certified medical aesthetician, the staff brightens skin with facials that harness Yon-Ka products or SharpLight laser beams. They also finesse physiques with treatments such as laser hair removal and body scrubs imbued with indulgent chocolate or calming seaweed. To the more relaxing end of the spectrum, massage therapists knead sore muscles and delight the senses with essential oils, sending clients into a state of bliss akin to lying on the beach as a gentle manatee sings to you.
Trained at Missisauga's Britain Institute for aesthetics, the beauty professionals at NiaSol Anti-Aging & Laser Clinic help guests look their best in a luxuriously relaxing environment. Micro-current facelifts—the center's specialty—perk up skin by stimulating facial muscles with tiny electrical charges. Other services include laser-based hair reduction, microdermabrasion treatments, and eyelash extensions that make peepers stand out and help you cement your position as the office's best butterfly kisser.
At the centre of House Of Beauty's services is an emphasis on making hair and skin look its very best. The staff can render multivitamin facials with a microdermabrasion, proteins, and minerals, adding a lympho-energetic face and decolletage massage that eradicates toxins. Alternatively, they can hone in on specific concerns by performing mole removal or anti-aging hand treatments. Hair specialists cut and condition hair and highlight it. Beyond hair- and skincare, House Of Beauty presents a slate of massages, including aromatherapy and hot-stone modalities.
Second Skin Medspa, helmed by licensed medical aesthetician Rose Cruz, pampers and retouches skin while adhering to stringent safety and sanitation standards. Cruz draws on more than 14 years of experience of practicing medical aesthetics in Vancouver and Toronto to perform chemical peels, banish acne, and care for diabetic feet, a specialty she learned at the North American School of Podology. IPL laser hair removal leaves skin smooth, and fractional skin resurfacing and photofacials help to fade fine lines and restore a youthful appearance without requiring one to eat play-doh. The spa also treats nails with relaxing manicures and pedicures that promote foot health and include a soak in a sanitary pipeless tub.
In the waiting room, a grid of circular mirrors reflects teal and white decor as clients sink into a wide couch with pillows. During pedicures, guests can rest on a plush white couch, stretch an arm over an ebony side table, and inhale gentle aromas from a diffuser in the corner.
