Spanning 25,000 square feet of living quarters for coldblooded creatures, Reptilia houses more than 200 venomous and nonvenomous reptiles and amphibians. Experienced keepers and handlers educate zoo-goers on the critters that make up the more than 50 exhibits, including star attractions such as a 14-foot king cobra, a red-footed tortoise, and Induna?a 14-foot Nile crocodile weighing more than 1,200 pounds. Besides expounding on animals? eating habits during four live feedings each day, the staff also demonstrates the reptiles? instinctive behaviors during live shows in an on-site theatre. Furthering its commitment to reptilian education, the zoo helps visitors overcome their irrational fears of snakes, spiders, and terrarium glass in a four-week course dedicated to phobias, and camp counselors guide Reptilia campers through science experiments, arts and crafts, and ecologically focused zoo tours.
Paws and Claws prides itself as a comprehensive stop for all furry friends. At each location, owners can bring along their creatures to find ample supplies to feed and entertain them, such as a large selection of toys and treats. Their knowledgeable staff includes professional groomers and retail specialists trained in the ways of pet nutrition and hygiene, as well as a consulting veterinarian who keeps the business up-to-date on animal-health trends. This commitment to enhancing the quality and longevity of pet lifespans is also apparent in Paws and Claws' donations to animal charities and adoption efforts.
In 1993, Bonnie left her job in banking for barking, starting up Pet Styles. A few years later she was joined by Alisha, who started off bathing the dogs before becoming a groomer. Bonnie and Alisha groom dogs as small as chihuahuas and toy poodles and as large as huskies and newfoundlands, styling them within their breed standards to make them dog-show ready, or to their owners' preferences to make them look like cats. The two groomers keep a careful eye on pets, pausing grooming sessions if it seems like the dog is becoming distressed.
At Pure Image Smile Bar, you won’t find any stations manned by manicurists, makeup artists, or dental surgeons. Neither a spa nor an endodontist's office, this friendly facility is dedicated entirely to teeth-whitening, teeth-cleaning, and dental-hygiene procedures. Here, experienced technicians pair a potent peroxide gel with cool blue LED lights to whiten teeth up to eight shades. To aid in client comfort, they prop smiles with cheek retractors and apply the gel directly to the teeth without dental trays, which minimizes mouth sensitivity and the odds of walking out of the office while still wearing a dental tray. They also use Power Swabs loaded with a foam-based gel that lifts stains dwelling deep in the enamel.
In addition to brightening teeth in the Pure Image Smile Bar office, technicians provide smile makeovers with general dental care and help clients maintain alabaster enamel at home with cosmetic products such as touch-up pens, peroxide-free whitening foams, and shine-enhancing tooth gloss.
