Owner Peter Curnow helps his clients break through athletic barriers with intense and effective CrossFit workouts. He creates new routines for each day's group classes and works in equipment that mimics functional movements at a high intensity. During any given workout, members might run with sandbags, squat with weighted barbells, climb ropes, flip giant tires, or find themselves jumping onto wooden boxes. Each exercise is easily tailored, too?whether by varying the mass of a weight or the height of a jump?so the same class can equally challenge participants at any athletic level. When weather permits, workouts move outside so groups can improve their cardio with sprints and strengthen their vision by staring down the sun. When workouts remain indoors, the newer space offers the most current exercise equipment. Student's results are tracked and monitored to show improvement and help reach goals, and even showering is as modern as it gets, with luxurious rainfall shower heads.

CrossFit's workout-of-the-day is known for its intense functional exercises. Fortunately, students at Friction CrossFit have Jeff Burlingame and Bobby Armock to motivate them through the challenging workouts. Both are CrossFit-level 1 trainers who have more than 8 years of personal training experience each. With Bachelor's degrees in Exercise Science, extensive athletic backgrounds in sports including football, wrestling, rugby, and track and field they help clients with sports performance, physical therapy, corrective exercise, and mobility. Those one-on-one training skills come in handy during introductory Foundations classes, where students ramp up to the daily workout routine by learning the basics. Before and after class, Friction CrossFit's participants can also access a lounge area and safe storage for personal belongings.

CrossFit uses a variety of strongman-style functional-movement exercises that are designed to carve out muscles and boost fitness including speed, agility, and power. CrossFit Flight?s coaches know that CrossFit can be intimidating, so they also offer Flight Fit boot camps, which focuses more on cardio exercises and core drills, rather than CrossFit's strength-building movements and complex gymnastic skills. The camps also utilize various work-to-rest ratios to maximize fitness results and get clients back in shape. They are even used by some as a gateway into the CrossFit program.
