Aesthetician Deanne Roy didn't begin her career in a skin and body spa but rather in the newborn and pediatric intensive-care unit. It was the years spent working with fragile children and their often-hysterical teddy bears that helped her develop the gentle touch and relaxed demeanor she brings to her aesthetic work today. Working under the supervision of plastic surgeon Dr. Randall Weil, she works to create the appearance of relaxed beauty in the hopes of improving her clients' self-confidence. To realize this goal, she recommends and administers treatments that include photofacials, long-term hair reduction, and cosmetic injectables.
When you walk into Eden Day Spa, you are immediately bathed in light from a crystal chandelier. Pure white walls reflect that light off an ornate mirror, teal mosaic reception desk, and delicate orchids, all of which are designed to create a serene mood. The spa extends this relaxing experience with a bevy of traditional and contemporary treatments including facials, massage, and skin care. During body glow treatments, a sunless tanner infuses the skin with antioxidants and botanicals, leaving it with a golden sheen, while Turkish body peels employ a loofah and imported liquid gommage to remove layers of dead skin. Calming facials give the skin an all-over burst of vitality, whereas semi-permeant lash extensions draw attention to your eyes, and a full range of massage modalities soothe the muscles with the help of herbs, therapeutic stretching, and reflexology.
Drawing on more than a decade of experience, derma guru Zoe Alexander performs a suite of skin-centric services, from waxing to organic facials. She custom blends masks to suit each client's skin type, deploying ingredients such as raw organic honey, green clay, and organic apple-cider vinegar to combat fine lines, blemishes, and all colors other than green. Lash and eyebrow tinting add drama to faces, and waxing services from head to toe de-fuzz physiques for up to six weeks.
At Dollface Beauty, the focus is on the face. The specialists here are invested in the little boosts that help their clients feel lovely, including lash extensions, makeup applications, and eyebrow design. Here, they perform their procedures with a personalized touch, and feature only products that they believe are of the highest quality. Just a few of their favorite brands are Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, Caudalie, and Eminence Organic Skincare.
Dollface Beauty also rents out its space for private parties, during which the makeup experts perform personalized makeovers for each guest. Regardless of the occasion or event, the experience is as pampering as the results are stunning.

Sometimes the little things make all the difference. Do you bake any supplementary services into your main services?
Every facial includes a hand and foot massage with a special aromatherapy blend. We also start each facial with a wonderfully relaxing 15-minute cleansing face, neck and shoulder massage. This softens and readies the skin for the treatment to follow.
What's the most common beauty mistake you see people make? What would you recommend they do instead?
The most common beauty mistake people make is not washing their faces properly and skipping the wash either in the morning or night. Often the wrong products are used as well. 70% of your skin care regimen is what you do at home, with the right products specially designed for your skin type and skin condition. Cleansing your face morning and night with the right cleanser (no soap please) is essential for healthy, beautiful skin. Massage your cleanser in for at least one minute and rinse with tepid water - it will plump your skin and prepare it for your morning or evening regimen.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
People are often confused about how to take care of their skin and what products to use. We encourage our clients to come in for a skin care consultation, if time or money does not allow for a facial. Our mission is to find the right products for each individual client and help them set up a skin care regimen for their budget.
The staff at The Fifth Avenue Spa showers clients with a repertoire of soothing treatments amid white leather couches and swaying sprays of cut flowers. Décor characterized by shades of sand lets accents of purple leap from sunset photographs, blooming orchids, and images of flying people-eaters gracing the walls. With contented sighs drifting free after massages and body wraps, patrons shutter electronic devices so as not to break the relaxing spell. The intimately lit treatment rooms make eyelids increasingly heavy and delight off-leash shadow puppets during waxing treatments and facials.
