Robert Hunter Winery (RHW) is a boutique winery located in the Sonoma Valley. RHW has four great wines and all sourced from the estate vineyard. Limited quantities of Brut de Noirs (Bubbles), Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon are produced by our President/Winemaker, Robert Hunter III.
In addition, RHW has a superlative view and an exotic botanical garden. Garden tours are available by appointment only.
Bob Hunter began planting the Hunter Farms vineyard in 1973 and the current 42 acre vineyard is planted to the following varieties (from most acres to fewest acres) Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc. The grapes for the Robert Hunter Wines are all sourced from this ‘little piece of Sonoma County.’
Chris Bowen is the vineyard manager for Hunter Farms. He has been upgrading the growing techniques and improving grape quality since 1983.
Robert Hunter Winery distinguishes itself as the smallest champagne house in California. The winery is off the beaten path and available for tours by appointment only. Our tours are Mon-Sat at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm and Sunday at 10:00 am. Visit and tour the special garden and grounds overlooking the Hunter Farms vineyard in Sonoma Valley. The garden has a selection of fine plants, many of them rare, with an emphasis on leaf color and texture. The hardscape was designed by the late Thomas Church. Tours by appointment only. With 50+ years of combined experience with some of the world’s most renowned winemakers, Peter and Betsy Spann founded their winery in 2001. Their steeply terraced mountainside vineyard yields small amounts of richly flavored Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Sangiovese grapes. Just as jazz is an interpretation of classical music, Spann Vineyard blends are interpretations of classical wine styles, such as the white wines Yin-Yang (Chardonnay/Viognier blend) and the red wines OMG (Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend), The Powerlifter (Petite Sirah/Grenache/Syrah/ Cinsault blend) and Mo Jo (Sangiovese/Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah/Merlot blend).
Charles Creek Vineyard Tasting Room & Gallery is situated in a charming 1890s storefront on the historic Sonoma Plaza. In addition to offering the opportunity to taste and purchase the small lot, hard to find Charles Creek wines the room also serves as a showcase for local artists with new exhibits hanging every 60 days.
The history of Ceja Vineyards dates back the 1950s, when Pablo Ceja, then working in St. Helena vineyards, dreamed of owning his own land where his ever-expanding family could grow their own grapes and make their own wine. Fueled by this dream for a better life for his children, Pablo moved his family from Mexico to the Napa Valley in 1967. Fortunately, 2 of his 10 children, Pedro and Armando, inherited his passion for wine and belief in hard work. When they were old enough, Pedro and Armando planted their first pinot-noir grapes in 1986 and, 13 years later, officially founded Ceja Vineyards with their wives and children. Today, the Cejas' operation boasts 113 producing acres and a chic wine-tasting salon where guests can enjoy sips of the vineyard’s red and white varietals, artisan cheeses, gourmet food items, and featured works from local artists.
In good Ceja tradition, Pedro and Armando’s kids are now beginning to purple their feet in the family business as well. Pablo’s family has undoubtedly made him proud; they’ve done much since their humble beginnings in St. Helena. The family hopes their story of hope and determination surfaces in every sip of their lovingly cultivated wines.

But nothing spoke to him quite like winemaking?not even running his first successful vineyard, Whitehall Lane Winery. Seeking to return to a more hands-on role in the winemaking process, he opened Judd's Hill Winery on 14 sprawling acres of Napa Valley countryside. Here, his family devotes their attention to keeping the quantities of their wine small, but the quality of those batches high. The resulting bottles tempt palates of every persuasion and astrological sign, with selections ranging from crisp, refreshing whites to complex and balanced reds. And the Finkelsteins freely share their viticultural knowledge?the winery offers microcrush services to aspiring vinters, and hosts educational courses on blending wines and pairing quaffs with cuisine.
Within the Winery Collective's multi-winery tasting room, grape savants uncork the flavorful nuances of liquid harvests hailing from more than 2 dozen of California's boutique wineries from Santa Barbara to Napa Valley. Winemakers and enthusiasts guide palates through wine-flight menus, which are culled from the more than 100 vinos that line the tasting room's walls and, like the political views of a housecat, change daily. The Winery Collective also hosts private and semiprivate parties and corporate events, during which guests mingle and sip in a lofted earth-toned lounge outfitted with crisscrossing wooden shelves that display colorful wine bottles and shapely decanters.
