Dr. Timothy Kosinski of SmileCreator has placed over 7,000 dental implants throughout his career. When he isn't crafting dentures, treating gums, or replacing fangs with tusks, he works as an adjunct assistant professor at a university. Because of his achievements in his field, he won the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition award from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2009. In addition to contributing to two textbooks, he has published more than 80 articles on implant dentistry and has written an unpublished collection of dental-themed haikus. Although Dr. Kosinski offers more routine preventive care, he mostly performs full-mouth reconstruction and cosmetic dentistry, and so, in order to help patients relax during these services, he can use both intravenous and oral sedation. Treatment rooms help patients unwind without sedation with TVs, individual headphones, DVDs, and computer equipment.
Con’s Organic Spa owner Con Ciecko isn't just an expert in the beauty industry. She's also a reiki master and a medical tattoo technician. These specialties, along with her education and training at Michigan and California institutes, have prepared her to execute services that both beautify and relax her clients. Besides kneading muscles with several massage modalities, she cleanses skin with organic facials, bronzes limbs with airbrush tanning, and administers makeup applications for weddings or black-tie viewings of TV weddings. Joined by a skilled staff that includes her daughter Kiya, a massage therapist and nail technician, Ciecko infuses her new spa confines with a welcoming and personable vibe as she helps her clients develop their own signature looks.
Before he opened Salon Retro, Tony Shkreli mastered advanced cutting techniques at TIGI Academies in New York, Detroit, and Toledo. Today, he's joined by fellow TIGI-educated stylist Kim and stylist and manicurist Danielle as he fuses new trends with iconic styles using a full line of TIGI products–-when he's not busy working as an educator for the company, that is. Beyond cutting and coloring strands, Tony's team can add dimension to hair hues with highlights and lowlights or use conditioning treatments to help nourish locks left dry from regular coloring, heat styling, or microwaving. After they've left the styling chair, clients can complement their chic new look by waxing away stubble from their lips, chins and eyebrows or by adopting a piece of artwork from the on-display collection, all of which is created by local artists.
The technicians at Naturally Yours Nail Spa draw from 19 years of experience to help bring damaged or faded nails back to brilliance. During treatment, you’re free to watch TV and talk out confusing soap opera plotlines as the nail techs pamper each of your fingers and toes. In services such as hydrating moisture manicures and spa rejuvenating pedicures, the specialist will then examine the client’s skin, apply a cooling masque, and massage the hands and feet before rekindling digits with polishes. The spa also carries sculpture acrylic nails and offers nail rebalancing services.
Wisconsin-born Dr. David Janssen began practicing medicine in the Fox Valley over twenty years ago. Since then, he’s dedicated more than two decades to helping his patients look and feel their best with innovative cosmetic and reconstructive surgery techniques. Together with fellow board-certified surgeon Dr. William Doubek and Dr. Marc Serret, Dr. Janssen creates custom treatment plans based on each patient’s needs and desires. In fact, patient input is an integral part of the process, whether the doctors are shrinking silhouettes with non-invasive CoolSculpting laser liposuction, or identifying and fighting the underlying causes of migraine headaches. They treat veins large and small with waves of thermal energy and localized laser beams, while Botox and Dysport touch-ups fight sagging skin and fine lines.
Like the palace of a Venetian doge, or the garage of an eccentric billionaire, the Renaissance Center is built in the image of a Renaissance-era Italian villa. Sporting a picturesque colonnade, peaked clay-tile rooftops, and a façade of sand-colored brick, the center greets patients with old-world charm as soon as they step out of their cars. Inside, parchment-colored walls, cozy furnishing, and potted plants sit in full view of the center’s most stunning feature: a recreation of the Sistine Chapel ceiling.
To the staff at Renaissance Med Spa, a client's request for facial tightening never conjures images of a surgical procedure. Instead, the lateral-thinking staff would probably envision the Palomar Lux1540 fractional laser—a device that glides over skin to painlessly promote collagen production and fade wrinkles, acne scars, and Sharpie-drawn goatees. The spa offers nonsurgical solutions to other skincare woes, including laser hair removal, massage, and age-fighting dermal fillers. Each treatment is performed under the supervision of Dr. Carl Cucco, and the certified staff comprises registered nurses, nurse injector specialists, licensed massage therapists, and licensed aestheticians.
