The epicurean fantasy continues as staff members begin leading you from station to station on a quest to create 6, 9, or 12 entrees. Each is perfect for freezing and cooking later when you're pressed for time.
SupperWorks' recipes change from month to month?entrees could include pork tenderloin and prosciutto in puff pastry, beef-and-mushroom goulash, and veggie-packed chili. But one thing doesn't change: the easy meal assembly.
All of the planning, shopping, washing, and prepping is done in advance, and the staff cleans up each station as dishes are completed. When the session ends after an hour or two, they'll send you home with easy-to-follow cooking instructions. SupperWorks also keeps prepared meals on hand for patrons to pop in and pick up at a moment's notice.
Ten years ago, Mr. India Grocers was a just a small, but well-loved grocery store serving the food needs of South Asian expats. But one day, the owners were struck with an idea: why not offer harder-to-find Bollywood movie rentals alongside food items? The idea was an instant success with customers. Soon, people shopping for ingredients for chicken tikka masala or a veggie biryani would also be seen picking up a Bollywood flick or 12 on their way out. The gain in popularity not only caused the store to expand to a larger location, but soon a second, larger outpost was opened on Grand Park Drive.
That growth has let Mr. India Grocers better serve the needs of their customers, allowing them to offer a wider selection of Indian goods and more exotic fruits from India. They have also opened a new haveli-style kitchen (a traditional Indian take-out area) at the Grand Park Drive location, where chefs serve up hot cups of masala chai alongside dishes such as lamb curry and buttery wads of naan. Each meal they make is designed to be eaten on the go, subbed in for dinner at home, or kept at one’s bedside to induce passionate food dreams.
The ancient arts of healing take root at Happy Foot Spa, where a team of therapists employs Asian bodywork techniques in pursuit of holistic improvements. Chinese tui na treatments and Japanese shiatsu treatments employ massage techniques that focus on acupressure points to balance and propel energy throughout the body. Lymphatic-drainage techniques target built-up fluids and toxins in the body with the hopes of improving metabolism and immune systems. Happy Foot Spa’s mix of classic spa treatments can also help beautify faces, slim bodies, remove hair, and paint "Do Not Chew" signs on finger- and toenails.
When Colio Estate Winery opened in 1980, they were the first winery in the area to seek a license since prohibition was lifted. This is surprising, since these vineyards lie on the same latitude as famed wine regions in northern California and Tuscany, Italy, which indicates that the regions could have similar growing climates. The area also boasts lush, fertile soil and a growing season longer than most of Canada, making it a favorable place to ripen grapes.
Today, Colio Estate Winery produces more than 400,000 cases of wine per year, including big red wines and refreshing whites. Knowing collaboration is key in the winemaking process, winemaker Lawrence Buhler and vineyard manager Kevin Donohue work in tandem to produce high quality wines in varietals such as Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Guests at the winery can learn about their process on tours, wander the vineyard, or recline in the outdoor pavilion to enjoy glasses of wine in the open air.
The winemakers at Vin Bon, using juices from international harvests, invite customers into the winemaking process, helping them craft their own vintages without the time-consuming steps of squeezing, straining, and background-checking their own grapes. After helping guests select their juice, the winemakers monitor and blend ingredients in each batch on its journey through fermentation and filtration. In additional to their winemaking services and kits, Vin Bon sources premium juices and grapes, such as cabernet sauvignon and riesling.
Erie Meats packages wholesale meats of all kinds into tidy parcels ready to cook at home or at local restaurants. Chicken nuggets, individually seasoned frozen chicken breasts, and strips from Watson Ridge join an inventory of Harvest Creek–brand super crunch hot dogs.
