Silke Schröder's canine haven hosts dog-training classes, grooming sessions, doggie daycare, and overnight guests in spacious luxury suites. Among Silke's many dog-whispering accomplishments, the German-born-and-raised dog trainer placed second at the 2001 German Northern States Dog Sporting Championship, qualified for the 2005 USDAA Agility World Championships, and has racked up years of professional experience training pups of all ages and breeds in basic obedience and agility using an upbeat and positive approach. Her diverse roster of classes ranges from basic puppy obedience to Canine Good Citizen courses, in which dogs learn to behave in public, around other dogs, and before Queen Elizabeth's corgi ambassadors.
Shaded by thick, moss-strewn trees, Pet Camp's outdoor play area provides plenty of room for carefree romps and organized activities with the pack for daycare visitors, and boarders can recover from games of Red Rover inside the 2,700-square-foot, climate-controlled kennel. Four-footed guests can stage a sweet-smelling reunion with their owners after a Hydrosuge bath, brush, or trim at the grooming center
Dr. Josh Kindred and his team of pet-loving vet technicians have dedicated their small practice to providing personalized care for each critter they see. Recognized as an accredited practice by the American Animal Hospital Association, Kindred's intimate care center handles an array of diagnostic and treatment procedures, including laser surgery, x-rays and ultrasounds, dental care, and immunizations. Dr. Josh and crew also host overnight guests for owners traveling out of town, providing supervised care in a climate-controlled kennel. During their stay, pets can safely frolic and share plates of spaghetti in the outdoor enclosure of the recently added play area. While pups romp around the grass, staffers keep their well-trained eyes peeled for behavioral changes, allowing each fuzzy face to enjoy a safe and pleasant residency.
The echoes of clopping hooves have echoed across KC Training Center’s expansive meadows for more than two decades. The family-owned equestrian facility’s professional trainers have kept busy during that time, boarding and training local horses and breeding IBHA World Champion Red Dun steeds. When they aren’t brushing manes or conducting whinnied operas in the barn, the trainers saddle up alongside greenhorn riders to teach them the fundamentals of trotting, jumping, and pulling stagecoaches.
The experienced trainers at University Equestrian Center, which opened its doors more than 50 years ago, equip riders with basic and advanced riding skills in a stress-free atmosphere. Aspiring horse-whisperers greet their mounts in the spacious barn and receive all the necessary equipment, such as a saddle, helmet, and carrot on a stick. Outside, lush greenery overhangs smooth riding trails on the sprawling grounds, where horses stand peacefully in grassy pastures.
Instructors tailor lessons to riding skills, helping pupils soar over hurdles or spur horses forward at a slow, steady gait. While equestrians enjoy their lessons, rides, or summer camps, guests can take advantage of the facility’s free WiFi or take dictation from horses that never learned to type.
Before she opened Nature's Pet Grooming, Lisa Jordan traveled across the United States to hone her skills. In Charleston, she apprenticed show groomers; in Oahu, she worked as a mobile groomer; in D.C., she groomed top dog politicians. Finally, she officially became a master in the field at the Paragon School of Pet Grooming and settled down in Florida.
As the owner of Nature's Pet Grooming, she's fostered strong relationships with her canine customers. Her deluxe baths cater to a dog's natural anxiety about grooming with a relaxing hydromassage shampoo delivery, cozy towel wrap, and gentle ear cleanings. Extras such as massage, lavender aromatherapy, and citrus rinses make pooches feel extra special on their birthdays or graduation from space camp.

In-house groomer, Rachel, is tasked with the important job of maintaining your pet's health and well-being. Regular grooming, equally important as regular physical check-ups, helps prevent issues like excessive shedding, skin or paw disorders, and bad breath. Rachel is at the animal hospital 6 days a week, during normal business hours to give your best friend the extra attention they deserve.
