Nita Harvey revamps hair with an all-natural line of organic products. Guests can solicit her expertise to craft voluminous layers, highlights, or a custom color process, all tailored to their unique features and personality. She also performs keratin treatments to straighten and fortify strands.
The stylists at XAR Hair Salon arm themselves with scissors and a slew of products—including Pureology, L'Oréal Expert, and Redken—in the pursuit of beautifying manes. They snip off split ends and imbue strands with golden highlights that complement the sunny walls and stone floors inside the salon. Stylists also expertly trim beards on men and billy goats.
Hair removal, massage, skincare?these are the marquee services at J Sterling's Hair Design, a relaxing boutique spa where client comfort is second only to results. The staff excels in state-of-the-art medspa treatments such as electrolysis and laser hair removal as well as more spa-like services such as the La Grand Classique Facial. This treatment uses anti-inflammatory plant extracts to diminish blemishes and give the skin a texture as smooth as a pitch from a velvet salesman. That's just one of nine facials offered here, along with chemical peels and microdermabrasion. Massage therapists provide Swedish, deep-tissue, and prenatal massages in private, sound-proof treatment rooms where clients have the privacy to let go of their stress and focus completely on the soothing bodywork.
Cobalt blue, bright turquoise, and fierce red hues can brighten up the inside Lavish Salon & Spa. But they aren't found on the walls or in paintings; rather, these vibrant colors are found on the heads of patrons walking out of the salon. Stylists’ outside-of-the-box thinking also includes asymmetrical layers and other funky dos. Of course, they just as adeptly imbue locks with classic golden hues and craft side-swept bangs for those aiming for a more timeless look.
A passion for creative hairstyling brought Tony Woodley, owner of Shine Salon, from London's Oxford Street to Orlando's Park Lake Street. The story of his journey, however, isn’t quite as simple as that. After sweeping floors as a 15 year old at Andre Bernard’s flagship salon, he apprenticed at John Frieda’s salon and continued to grow as a stylist. His obvious skills led to jobs at magazine photo shoots and finally to the fashion capital of New York City. Frustrated with the lack of truly creative opportunities in the U.S., Tony took matters into his own hands, moved to Florida, and started a salon that he could call his very own.
Since opening, Shine Salon has made a name for itself as a haven for creative hair design. Tony and his staff continue to pride themselves on creating flattering cuts and coloring treatments for any number of occasions. Their concern for beauty doesn’t stop at the scalp; the team's aesthetician doles out facials and waxing services that leave skin smooth and nourished, and a nail tech moisturizes hands and feet before painting nails with highly detailed maps of local bus lines.
