The staff members at Sylvan Learning's numerous study facilities understand that each child learns differently. Therefore, they don’t try to implement a uniform tutoring system; instead, they design custom lesson programs based on the results of standardized testing, diagnostic tools, and one-on-one interviews.
Tutors work with students from kindergarten through grade 12, illuminating topics ranging from basic reading and writing to remembering complex algebraic formulas. Many of Sylvan’s instructors work in local schools, so they are intimately familiar with common curricula and understand how to gear lessons toward optimal results.
An avid Bikram-yoga enthusiast, studio-owner and certified Bikram-instructor Debora Fahmy dedicated herself to honing her performance of Bikram?s 26 challenging poses, working through two to three sessions a week for several years. When she was ready, Debora enrolled in an intensive Bikram-yoga training program to prepare herself to share the hot-yoga style with others in her very own studio. Today, inside Core Yoga Orlando's spacious facility, Debora leads students through the 90-minute, 26-posture practice seven days a week, accommodating up to 65 students in each class. She heats the practice space to a balmy 95 to 105 degrees to soften muscles into healing twists and binds and reduce bodies' stores of built-up toxins to mere puddles upon the gleaming hardwood floors. After each session, students may take advantage of the spa-like amenities, which include men's and women's showers, locker rooms, and marble stalls for freshly cleansed spirit animals.
At Gifted University, young children have an opportunity to explore all the knowledge the world has to offer. Classes start as young as six months, teaching children dance, art, and foreign languages. After school programs complete a well-balanced education with engineering and science lessons alongside art and foreign language programs. Gifted University also offers dance, music, vocal lessons and private and group music lessons, and more. When they're not learning how to read music, kids can play with their friends in Giftedville, the school's indoor playground.
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? Gifted University is one of the only education-enrichment programs of its kind in the area. Most parents spend their weeks traveling to several locations and several programs, while Gifted University offers them all in one location.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring? All your child needs to bring is his or her imagination, positive energy, and willingness to explore.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business? My daughters were actually the inspiration behind starting this business. We wanted them to have introductions to multiple art forms and subjects. I have struggled for years to find one program that offered everything in one place. So we created it.
What do you love most about your job? We love introducing children to the world of the performing arts and watching them explore, discover, and embrace their gifts. We also love working with children that maybe gifted in an academic subject and helping them to reach their highest potential.
There are no shortcuts when it comes to losing weight and learning to live a healthier lifestyle. Effective regimens hinge upon a combination of medical insight, professional guidance and encouragement, and continuing education. Above all else, real-life change stems from a steadfast commitment to making changes and adjustments. All of these factors are taken into account by the professionals at Medifast Weight Control Centers, who use the most current understanding of weight-loss techniques to design personalized programs that complement individual needs and goals.
Going beyond traditional BMI measurements, the centers' technicians use Biospace InBody technology to obtain a detailed assessment of body composition, including muscle mass, body-fat percentage, water balance, and muscular development throughout the torso and limbs. Based on these data, the staff members are able to design a program that emphasizes the importance of a proper diet. These programs typically involve recommendations from the 70 available physician-developed meals, which are easy-to-prepare dishes that feature balanced servings of protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and chlorophyll.
The meal regimens also aim to alter eating habits by encouraging clients to eat smaller portions at regular times throughout the day, controlling the cravings that can lead to overeating. Throughout each program, professional counselors will routinely meet with clients to ensure that they remain motivated and on-course.
Pawsh Pet Resort and Spa was designed from a pet's perspective to provide its furry visitants with homely comforts amid a safe, fun, and personalized environment. The facility is managed by Holly Kierski, whose credentials for the job include certifications in pet CPR, first aid, and as a bark-to-English translator. Holly heads a staff of professionals that supervise all of Pawsh's day-to-day activities, ranging from exercise-packed daycare services to upscale boarding options, some of which feature password-protected webcams so traveling owners can peek in on their canine or kitty. Meanwhile, on the spa side of Pawsh, professionally trained groomers spruce up shaggy styles, and outside the facility, Pawsh employees jet off to clients' houses for in-home sitting of more exotic pets, such as horses, birds, and freeloading cousins.
Though fantastical castles and iconic characters remain popular with kids, the Orlando area also hosts a plethora of public parks on the shores of its many lakes. Winter months see a welcome decrease in humidity in tandem with a dispersion of mass flocks of tourists. About a 30-minute drive from the resort, Cypress Grove Park lavishes uncluttered senses with spanish-moss-hung trees, lake breezes, and numerous walking trails where nature lovers can identify the variform flora and fauna or seek fiscal advice from a wise old swamp thing.
