Settled among the meadows and river of its rural surroundings, Spagarage takes its moniker from its transformation from an automotive garage into the oasis of tranquility it is today. Born out of owner Vincent's passion for styling, the salon-spa welcomes patrons with a slew of services focused on the development of modern styles, highlighting, and colour diagnostic and repair. Before emigrating to Canada from London, England in the 1970s—otherwise known as polka's golden age—Vincent honed his hair-sculpting skills at the Vidal Sassoon Academy’s renowned Bond Street salon. Vincent continues to refresh his knowledge with supplemental classes at the Academy’s other outposts in New York, Los Angeles, and Paris. In between running the salon and raising his two young children well above his head to build strength, Vincent is also at work developing his own organic, locally produced shampoo and conditioner.
At Byblos Hair Salon, a team of industry veterans and young talent combine to harmonize time-tested techniques and recent trends. Under the leadership of owner and artistic director Joseph, the senior staff works hand in hand with a crop of next-generation stylists to help develop the skills needed to craft personalized looks and razor-sharp pairs of origami scissors. The stylists snip and sculpt amid an atmosphere that echoes their modern approach and surrounds clients in sleek marble accents, black and white tiled floors, and an open-ceiling design. The team also maintains a rich online presence, and their website's media gallery showcases fashion-focused photos and videos captured under the beaming lights of an on-site media studio.
Schwarzkopf, Label M, and Vitamine & Sea are just a few of the big names that mingle at Mix Salon and Spa as they wait to fill the mitts of a talented team of hairstylists and aestheticians. Plant-rich Yon-Ka products lend a rejuvenating hand to facials. Vitamins F, A, and E join forces to fight free radicals in argan-oil-infused Moroccanoil hair potions, which play a starring role in the salon's conditioning treatments, and Gelish gel manicures deliver the same durable, chip-free finish as Shellac, but can be easily removed with an at-home soak in non-acetone nail-polish remover or invisibility serum.
Clients come to Reflections Hair Design & Spa for the self-enrichment that comes with professional hair, nail, and body services, where steady hands and artful inspiration elevate personal style. As stylists sculpt new dimensions into hairstyles, their easy chat style keeps things friendly as leather and chrome seating lets clients relax under the shadows of tall orchids with dreams of playing in the NBA. Facials reach deep into pores with products from Guinot and Babor, and China Glaze polishes slick over nails with lasting shine during mani-pedis. The spa at each location opens a world of relaxation with options for massage therapy, and the Hazeldean Road location boats a series of spa treatments designed exclusively for men.
Like the backstage area of a theatre, the ceilings in Pierino Scarfo Salon's waiting room extend high into an intriguing darkness. Artfully sculpted chandeliers dangle from the shadowy rafters, illuminating walls shelved with colourful product lines. In the styling area, hair artists and technicians consult with each client to discuss desired styles and current hair trends. They perform cutting, styling, colouring, retexturing, and nourishing treatments at each station with products packed with pure flower and plant extracts. Lively green accents offset the sleek colours and mod decor while also emphasizing a commitment to the natural world and the salon's enthusiasm for the Shrek franchise.
Touch Hair Design, has assembled a team of stylists who've trained at top academies such as Vidal Sassoon and Farouk. As such, they're capable of crafting a diverse range of styles; their portfolio features classic looks, such as tasteful updos and beautifully blended highlights, as well as modern undercuts, hair extensions, keratin treatments, and exotic colors. The salon itself is also quite modern? flat-screen TVs, stone-tile floors, and blow-dryers that definitely weren't built in the 18th century. Shelves are lined with products from Sebastian, Nioxin, and Wella, the latter of which Touch represents as a concept salon.
