The instructors and practitioners at TendingShen devote themselves to spreading the word of acupuncture from its roots in Eastern Asia to Western shores. They believe that five-element acupuncture—a descendant of traditional Japanese and Korean styles—makes a versatile complement to Western medicine, augmenting treatments that address ailments metabolically with holistic methods designed to stimulate the body’s own natural healing.

Jeff Castle came to rolfing out of necessity?nothing else was working. Physical therapy was offering no relief from his herniated disc, and surgery loomed on the horizon. Lucky for him, yoga class led him to rolfing. Now a certified rolfer and owner of Castle Rolfing, Jeff uses the method's blend of myofascial release and bodywork to ease pain in his clients. He's specially trained to deal with internal scar tissues after abdominal surgery, and aftereffects of brain or spinal trauma. For the latter, he employs Monica Canducci's technique Move in Mind, which relies on imagery to normalize the brain's processes.
