Pro Tip: All dogs are loved like they are our own.
Dogs staying at Doggie Depot OKC may miss their owners, but they won't get lonely. After owners drop them off, they rush into the facility's indoor and outdoor play areas where they greet new furry friends. Together, they romp and sniff their way through 8,000 square-feet of open space, stopping only to splash in kiddie pools or compare cat tattoos. Meanwhile, qualified staffers are always on hand to supervise play sessions, towel off wet pups, and tuck boarding pets into spacious 5'x5' private pens. The team of pet lovers also oversees grooming treatments, all of which include a shampoo, nail trim, haircut, brush, and ear cleaning.
Stephanie Gau has loved dogs all her life but it wasn't until she discovered Meatlovers, the nutrient-rich organic dog food used by police departments, that that the idea to open her own business took shape. Meatlovers wasn't a new concept, as the company had been around since the invention of dogs in 1949, but Stephanie, who had worked in law enforcement, felt she could combine the time-tested food with other products and services and her passion for canine care.
Today, the dog lover packs her shop with locally made goodies waiting to fill the stomachs of man's best friends. She works with the local Yellow Dog Bakery to outfit canine chompers with treats such as birthday cakes, pupcakes, and decorated cookies. Stephanie also educates customers on proper dog nutrition, while Waggles—the store's dalmatian mascot—attends local events at dog parks and garden shows.
In addition to the retail shop, Stephanie and her team groom pups and run a boarding center. Unlike most kennels, Tail Waggers' crew doesn't keep their furry friends inside crates or cages. Instead, canines spend nights in doggy hotel rooms and days in a play area, where they can bounce and play cribbage with other dogs between regular trips outside.
At Uncle Vinny's NY Pizza, cooks decorate New York–style pizza crusts with nearly two dozen toppings that range from pepperoni and buffalo chicken to veggies such as broccoli and fresh tomatoes. But before layering on hearty ingredients, they can prep the crust with garlic and ricotta cheese or a drizzle of hot oil—a house signature. Alternatively, the toppings can join more classic marinara sauce or be tucked inside of a calzone or glove compartment before a road trip. After ordering pizza, hero sandwiches, or baked lasagna at the counter, guests can lounge at one of the tables dressed in a red-and-white checkered cloth or take their food to go.
The staff at Doggone-It Daycare wants customers' dogs to run wild—in a cage-free, climate-controlled environment, that is. Two indoor playgrounds host socialization sessions where pets play with one another, chew on toys, leap over obstacles, or concoct sure-fire plans to finally catch their own tail. Staff members walk each dog at least four times a day during daycare stays, and tuck them into comfortable beds during overnight visits.
When on vacation, the best way to achieve peace of mind is to ensure your pets never notice you're missing. The animal lovers at At A Bark! Above the Rest keep pets occupied by stopping by homes to walk dogs, fill food and water bowls to brimming, and scoop out kitty litter boxes. They also offer boarding at their own facility, where they shower pets with plenty of one-on-one playtime. Additionally, owners can schedule grooming sessions with experienced pet stylists who know their way around mohawks.
