A towering wine rack spans an entire wall and glimmers with more than 1,000 bottles. Across the room, a lineup of nitrogen-regulated Enomatic machines dispenses samples from 80 wines to be sipped, swirled, and theatrically spit while reclining on a leather sofa, or while sitting at the long wooden bar. Small, shareable plates populate Sarasota Vineyard's menu in the forms of cheeses, roasted olives, and prosciutto-wrapped figs, ideal for pairing with wines or barley pops from a list of 20 beers.

The menu at City Fish Seafood Grill & Chophouse reads like an edible atlas. The The chefs here source fresh salmon from the Atlantic, seabass from Chili, and lobsters from Maine. And the preparations are just as global as the proteins: shellfish-laden paella evokes the eateries of Spain, while beer-battered fish 'n' chips pays tribute to England's famous tartar sauce springs. International flavors also accent sushi selections, from classic tuna and California rolls to the cajun-inspired Bubba Gump, loaded with fried Louisiana crawfish, mango, and cream cheese.

Globe-trotting flair can be found behind the bar as well. Bartenders pour sake, and uncork wines from Italy and New Zealand. Imported spirits are shaken, stirred, and siphoned into specialty cocktails such as the Snickers martini, accented with caramel vodka and amaretto. On weekends, bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys accompany hearty brunch spreads of omelets and french toast.

Out back, a sun-drenched patio welcomes imbibers as they soak in vitamin D and the tart orange and lemon flavors of an Ommegang Witte ale or the warm finish and Russian accent of a North Coast Old Rasputin stout. An event schedule chock-full of parties and concerts ensures that the spacious tavern is constantly humming with the sounds of weekly trivia, beer-sampling events, and live tunes from local bands.

Every Sunday, patrons of the Palm Harbor House of Beer can go head to frothy head with Randall the Enamel Animal, a singular beer-infusing machine developed by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. The specially created tap can cram pints of beer with extra flavor from added hops, coffee beans, fruit, or even singles' phone numbers. This quirky contraption caught the attentions of a reviewer from the Tampa Bay Times, who hailed the bar as a "haven for beer nerds" during American Craft Beer Week in 2011. Patrons can also pick their poison from a lineup of 50 craft-beer taps from breweries such as Brooklyn and Flying Dog, along with local hopmasters Cigar City and Swamp Head. The bar's website takes care to keep the tap list updated frequently?allegedly to the minute?because, as co-owner A. J. Bubolz told the Palm Harbor Beacon, "three days from now, 25 percent of those will be different."

Back in 1985, Jim Mellody realized his lifelong dream: opening a neighborhood hangout for friends and families to sit back and watch a game. Not long after its inception, Jim established a solid group of regulars who playfully re-christened the new hangout, referring to it simply as “Beef’s”—a short and sweet moniker that’s now commonly used at locations across the country.

Whether dining in Florida or Illinois, customers can cozy up and dine on the restaurant’s menu of classic pub fare, including burgers, sandwiches, and fajitas, all served amid an arsenal of sports-casting TVs. While adults eat, drink, and cheer on the game, youngsters can head to the Kids Zone , which is stocked with everything a budding child could ask for, including arcade games and LSAT prep materials.
