Suzie DaSilva is a hunter of honest moments. Both inside her studio and at client-chosen locations, she strives to fit familial affection, infant laughter, and blossoming romance into her photos. To better preserve the sentiment behind the smile, she encourages spontaneity in her subjects, who range from children to high-school seniors to wedding couples. She also creates collages, blending action shots with portraits to capture clients' favorite hobbies or the dynamic of their all-clone soccer teams.
You only have to see their photographs to know that Omaha Wedding Exposures' photographers love going to weddings. Looking through the lens of experience, they adeptly capture everything from the grand views of the wedding party to the twinkle in the groom's eye when he first sees his bride. In addition to composing and snapping the perfect moments, they take the time to edit their pictures, making the colors vibrant and adding a timeless quality to the images.
From inflatables and games to magicians, Bryan Hill and his team offer a wide range of entertainment options that can liven up any soiree, as they have for more than 30 years. Inflatable obstacle courses test the endurance of kids, adults, and retired American Gladiators, and a mechanical bull tries to throw daring riders. Colorful carnival moonwalks set the mood, and live performers include airbrush tattoo artists, magicians, and a hypnotist. When the team is not enhancing parties with their colorful equipment and live shows, they’re hard at work repairing, tuning up, and installing new hardware on clients' computers and laptops.
Aaron Zeller understands that great photography goes beyond pretty scenery and broad smiles—it’s about telling a story. He founded AJZeller Photography in 2009 as a way to document genuine emotions—from a young couple’s love to a family’s joyful new addition—unsullied by contrived poses or smiles enlarged with clown makeup. Aaron specializes in what he calls Beloved photography, a style that strives to capture the raw, unfiltered love of a couple through real-life interactions instead of coached emotions. He offers wedding, portrait, and engagement photography as well as a unique program—A Life Remembered—that records the passing of time through yearly photo sessions, discounted prints, and hourly polaroids of a grandfather clock.
Experienced photographer Steve Kowalski brings 20 years of fine-art and photojournalism experience to each photo shoot at A Better Exposure. Steve's portrait style includes color as well as black-and-white film, and he approaches each subject, from families to pets to recent college grads, with a desire to capture each distinct personality. During in-studio sessions, he serves refreshments while talking casually with clients in his lounge. Clients can have their shoots inside Steve's spacious studio, outfitted with a range of backdrops and canvases, or can take advantage of his expertise in on-location sessions that incorporate the beauty of the surrounding Omaha area. After each shoot, Steve retires to an advanced digital darkroom where he edits and retouches images, and removes any photo-bombing bunny rabbits. Customers can then purchase prints, photo books, and other products such as slideshows from A Better Exposure.
Jeannie Juarez doesn't just take pictures of her clients striking poses. In her estimation, some of her best work comes from candid snapshots, so she keeps her shutter clicking throughout each session. An avid nature lover, she conducts her photo shoots outdoors, where she trains her lens on families, kids, teens, couples, expectant moms, and pets. Each session yields a disc full of images meticulously edited by Jeannie, as well as prints.
