Just beyond the neon blue lights of Yo Mix Frozen Yogurt's tiled counter, guests can fill up empty cups at a bank of yogurt dispensers set inside a marble wall. After filling up with any of the shop's rotating menu of more than 100 flavors of frozen yogurt—such as chocolate milkshake and dragon passion tart—guests can decorate and enhance their creations at the covered toppings counter, which features fruits, nuts, and candies. While nibbling on their self-made snack at one of the contemporary tables or bar seats, patrons can log into the free Wi-Fi and search the web to see if scientists finally found the cure for brain freeze.

Q&A with Carole, Owner

In your own words, how would you describe your menu?
A classic coffee culture menu using our own brand of fresh roasted beans, and offering smoothies, sandwiches, salads, omelets, desserts and Greek yogurt medleys

What is one of your most popular offerings? How is it prepared?
Turtle heaven is our version of a mocha latte, infused with carame [drizzle]l, topped with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, ... and mini walnuts. Mmmmmm.

Do you use any family recipes at your restaurant? Whose family do they belong to (the chef, the owner, or someone else)?
Our owner creates his own version of salads and sandwiches using his many years of past experience in the bakery and restaurant industry, while our manager creates the mixtures and toppings for the coffees.

At Rice Paradise, the gluten- and preservative-free signature rice cakes are culled from a European recipe and are all homemade. The culinary crew tops each batch with fresh fruit or nuts, and sticky-sweet sauce, such as chocolate or strawberry. They also craft rice pudding from scratch in flavors such as tiramisu and chocolate chip cookie dough. To give guests a true break from their daily grind, the eatery's walls are splashed with ocean blue and lined with seashells and starfish, and the countertops are fronted with bamboo and topped with tropical plants.

In your own words, how would you describe your menu?
We have a large menu of gourmet salads and sandwiches, and our homemade soups are cooked daily. We also offer fresh bubble tea.

A towering wall of book-lined shelves and a wooden chessboard tucked in the corner create "that vibe where you feel like maybe you should stay for a spell" at Moloko, according to the Miami New Times. That feeling grows stronger as you sip from a cup of steaming coffee or steeped tea and drive a fork into abundant crepes stuffed with anything from prosciutto to raw, organic maple syrup.

Overhead, exposed wooden rafters keep the ceiling from floating away from the walls, adding a rustic touch to the otherwise modern décor. Customers lounge beside cherry-red walls at the coffee bar, settling into vinyl seats that fall somewhere between stools and armchairs. When the space isn't serving customers, the staff hosts crepe-making classes and live music.
