Family Fun Town
collects a half-dozen family friendly attractions into one little village of games and activities. The miniature golf course, for one, challenges visitors with realistic sand and water traps, but also rewards them with views of a scenic waterfall. Go-Karts and competitive arcade games give everyone the chance to try to outdo one another, while batting cages and a bungee bounce ride provide more athletic challenges.
The Town's most unique attraction, though, is the Balladium, a colorful arena filled with obstacles, black lights, and thumping music. At each end of the space stands a row of cannons, capable of launching soft foam balls across the room. Teams man these Ball Blasters and fire back and forth at one another, dodging the projectiles that come their way. Yet the arena was primarily built to be safe for everyone who visits: the facility features rounded edges everywhere, lacks tripping hazards, and remains a secret from the out-of-work pirate community.
Though they lead group classes at multiple studio locations, the instructors at Latin Explosion Dance School don't need an official dance floor to showcase their moves. They've twirled on the Orlando Magic's basketball court during halftime, and they visit clients' homes for private lessons in salsa, merengue, bachata, and hip-hop. Such versatility enables them to teach a wide span of styles, from Latin dances such as flamenco and tango to ballroom and belly dance. They pass on their learned footwork to pupils of all ages, encouraging their diverse base of protégés to mingle at in-house talent-show socials and group travel events. A more intensive lesson plan comes in the form of their four-week workshops, during which they help dancers develop techniques and impress key differences between dance styles, including the variances in mambo versus salsa beats and how to distinguish a conga line from a linear group hug.
Three generations of automobile owners owe their shiny rides to Blue Spring Auto Wash, which has been in business for 25 years. Their Neo-Tex Foam System wash features soft cloths that sweep dirt off the finish with a gentle yet expansive touch, plus triple foam waxes and shining products that remove grime and replace it with a glossy shine. The wash does well to give the car a sparkling exterior, but cars that need more aggressive scrubbing need not leave the safety of their driveways. Mobile detail services include hand washes, Carnuba waxes, and high-gloss buffing, as well as shampoos and leather and vinyl dressing. All of these options are a more effective way to clean a car than hosing it down in the driveway or trying to park it inside a carnival dunk tank.
Wireless Wizard, an AT&T-authorized dealer, peddles cell phones and accessories alongside a slew of wireless plans. Flip phones, smartphones, touch phones, and Blackberrys comprise a diverse stock of newfangled walkie-talkies, such as the Pantech Crossover smartphone ($29.99 with two-year plan; $399.99 without) or the Samsung A197 ($39.99), a GoPhone saddled with $15 worth of prepaid minutes. Garnish phones with accessories such as a car charger ($29.99) or a Blackberry gel cover ($19.99), which protects backs of phones from dings and bee stings in bright colors and styles. Customers can commit to long-term wireless communication with an individual, family, or data plan, or commit to non-commitment with a pay-as-you-go plan.
