Since 1977, Huntington Learning Center has employed a battalion of highly trained tutors to help students triumph over math misgivings and phonics fears. Young scholars ages 5–17 begin their gold-star-seeking journey with an academic evaluation lasting 3.5 to 4 hours to pinpoint their individual needs. After the exam, the center's staff will create a detailed analysis of each student's strengths, personal goals, and spitball-accuracy stats. In one-hour one-on-one sessions, tutors encourage pupils to work at their own pace while focusing on areas in which improvement is needed. Huntington often welcomes parents into its centers of cerebration for complimentary workshops on creating a learning environment free of distractions such as stress and constant gossip about the family dog.
Using his extensive background in professional portraiture and bronze sculpture, artist Adam Reeder teaches pupils of all ages how to draw and sculpt compelling pieces. A 2009 graduate of San Francisco's Academy of Art, Reeder has gained the attention of audiences and art critics for his Greek-inspired sculptures, which accurately depict the human body but also critique modern society. By pairing Atlas with an Earth-sized iPod and substituting Zeus's lightning bolt with an iPhone, he puts a current twist on the conventions of classical sculpture, suggesting that Apple products have finally surpassed Atari?s stranglehold on Western culture.

After spending 10 years as a driving range-only facility, Sunrise Golf Course unveiled its 9-hole course in 1984 and invited players to challenge the par 31 layout. Now nearing its 30th birthday, the course still presents a test for players of all skill levels as they drive their golf balls over rolling hills and try to avoid the creek that intersects the land. Thanks to an abundance of fairway-lining trees, the course also offers plenty of shade, keeping players cool and protecting golf balls from sunburn.
The mixologists at ABC Bartending School utilize years of bartending experience to divulge saloon secrets in certification-based and recreational bartending classes. In the mixology course, expert instructors impart drink recipes and refine beer and wine palates while students shake up cocktails and take cover from projectile champagne corks. Certification classes prepare students for bartending careers as they mix classic and popular drinks while learning about alcohol laws, responsible liquor service, and stocking and inventory. Instructors demonstrate free pouring techniques, allowing students to fill faraway glasses or safely drizzle beverages into the mouths of piranhas. ABC’s job-placement program puts graduates to work in restaurants, nightclubs, sports bars, hotels, country clubs, and cruise-ship bars.
