Before performing an exhausting concert, the members of Earth, Wind, and Fire knew exactly how to unwind: a massage from Trisha Ure. They aren't the only ones?artists from Alice Cooper to Jack Johnson have also called upon the licensed massage therapist to conjure her kneading magic backstage. These days, Trisha?a Utah College of Massage Therapy graduate with more than 15 years of professional experience?showcases those massaging talents at her very own studio, The Healing Body Massage.
The name is apt, as Trisha's main goal is to relieve bodies of injury and chronic pain by administering medium to deep modalities, such as trigger point therapy. She specializes in helping clients work through chronic pain. Her clients range from car accident victims to athletes, who rely on her intensive strokes to prevent injury or recover from particularly strenuous touchdown dances.
Oxygen doesn't just grow on trees. It has to be cultivated by skilled farmers like those at Solase, who have harnessed its restorative properties to pair them with a dynamic array of therapeutic massage techniques. After muscles melt under shiatsu strokes or deep-tissue pressure, clients can enjoy a sturdy jolt of 40% O2 at the oxygen bar, available in such tantalizing scents as mango, pumpkin, watermelon, and new-yacht smell. Solase also offers an array of beautifying treatments, ranging from brow waxing and eyelash tinting to chemical peels and indulgent facials.

Besides making clients happy, what do you like most about your job?
One of the best feelings to me is when the massage is over and the client can feel a significant difference right away. It doesn't always happen, but it makes me feel like I accomplished something.
What's the most common beauty mistake you see people make? What would you recommend they do instead?
The most common mistake people make with their body is having poor posture and not drinking enough water. Exercising, stretching, and getting your daily water will help tremendously.
How did you get started in the industry? Did you have an "ah-ha" moment in life?
My sisters encouraged me to pursue massage. I thought I wanted a degree first, but then I went to a weekend massage class. That was the first time I'd given someone a 50 minute Swedish massage, and I loved it. I knew this was definitely for me.
Bernice Andersen, master aesthetician and owner of Beaux Skin and Wellness at Sleepy Ridge, oversees a team of experience technicians dedicated to beautifying their clients. The studio?s menu of services includes PureSculpt face and body treatments, Ice Facials with organic clay, and TruShape body-contouring treatments and age-fighting dermal fillers. Warm wax banishes unwanted fuzz from faces, bikini areas, and self-conscious peaches, whereas lash extensions add temporary length and flutter to eyelids. They also provide a 1, 3, or 5 day complete wellness retreat, which includes infrared body detoxifying wraps, fresh organic juice, a personal training session and post well care packs for optimum performance.
Elevation Massage's licensed therapist, Andrew Leo Hansen, believes in the body's ability to heal itself. He feels that massage therapy is one way to prod it to do so. Hansen has honed skills in trigger point to unknot muscle fibers, deep tissue to restore structural balance, and injury massage to help relieve damage to muscle tissues. He works in a room that's charcoal grey, like a rumpus room after a grill explosion. This space features East Asian accents, such as a live bamboo plant and tapestries of Asian characters hanging on the walls.
The experts at Orem Body Contouring specialize in performing noninvasive aesthetic procedures to achieve results that are more than skin deep. Body contouring procedures take place in the tranquility of a private room, where a trained aesthetician targets problem areas with ultrasound and radiofrequency energy. These technologies are designed to shrink fat cells while tightening skin, helping forge a leaner, more toned body. For facial rejuvenation, seaweed masks nourish the face with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, helping guard skin against damaging free radicals and overenthusiastic sushi chefs.
