Though they operate more than 200 locations in upwards of 30 states, the team behind U.S. Baseball Academy aims to make each young athlete's experience a personal one. Their four- or six-week camps are taught by local instructors who are current or former coaches at the high school or college level, and typically offer a 6:1 or better player-to-teacher ratio for intense, professional-style training. The Academy's proven itinerary of hitting, pitching, fielding, and baserunning drills was developed by an advisory board of college coaches and Major League players, including Cy Young Award?winner and ace pitcher Brandon Webb.

Regardless of whether or not golfers agree with his teaching philosophies, few could argue that Dan Spiegel isn’t a wellspring of information. Most instructors keep their communications safely within the tee-to-green framework, but Dan prefers to branch out: he uses his academy’s website not only as a place to list golf pointers and tips, but also as a place to discuss an ecclectic mix of topics, from his views on modern media to his take on the sports news of the day. Dan’s teaching methods are as wide-ranging as his interests. Typically, he uses whatever means his student deems most comfortable, whether that means encouraging them to play by feel or react to a more scientific breakdown of mechanics. Regardless of the approach, the overarching theme of his lessons—which occur both on the range and out on the course at Lake Orlando Golf Club—is to turn the players’ weaknesses into strengths.

Though Ruthe Advena has been the director of the DanzForce Extreme studio for 8 years, she hasn't forgotten what it's like to be a mom dropping her kid off for dance class. Perhaps this is why she and her team of instructors focus on training young dancers, sometimes starting when they're just 2.5 years old and haven't yet fallen in with that rowdy toddler gang down the street. These seasoned teachers motivate their young charges in 18 different types of dance classes, including aerial dance, ballet, hip-hop dance, and acro dance. To help students take their training to the next level, artistic director Jaime Reid and Shannon Leli helm a house dance team, which they've led to victory at a slew of area dance competitions. DanzForce Extreme also conducts an after-school performance arts program, complete with pick-up at several local elementary schools.

A typical double feature is two films shown back-to-back, but at Hollywood Drive-in Golf, it's shorthand for a different sort of entertainment. That's because the two "features" are actually each 18-hole miniature golf courses modeled after movies from the 1950's. Along The Haunting of Ghostly Greens and Invaders From Planet Putt, players strive to sink holes-in-one amidst cemeteries and alien environments decorated with movie-style set dressings. Some greens require precise putts into a space worm's open mouth and others lead players through a haunted house's basement lab. Special effects and interactive obstacles dazzle visitors on each course, which, thanks to LED neon lighting, can be explored well into the night or a lunar eclipse.
