For proof that CrossFit 440's classes can make dramatic changes, you just need to glance over the instructor bios. There, you'll find seasoned fitness experts like Ben Parks, who had been a full-time trainer for years before discovering CrossFit in 2009. But you'll also read the story of Jamie Marino, who had never considered herself an athlete when she walked into a class in 2010. Flash forward to today, and she's leading others down their own healthier paths as a certified trainer at CrossFit 440. Our comprehensive Fundamentals course will prepare you for the regular CrossFit classes. Exercise is challenging. How do you keep clients motivated and engaged? The CrossFit routine becomes more enjoyable and motivational as the individual progresses. Constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movement increases work capacity across broad time and modal domains. Our trainers are positive and constantly push the client with inspirational words. What was the inspiration to start or run this business? I have opened a CrossFit gym because of my desire to make a difference. I wanted to work with others to help move them forward in profound ways in their lives. I knew that I could offer the service, support, guidance and honesty others needed to make big transitions in their lives. What do you love most about your job? I love my job because it's so relaxing and it's a very positive environment. It does keep me on my toes, but making people happy makes me happy.

Inside The Bar CrossFit's 6,000-square-foot facility, an electric-green graffiti mural forms the backdrop for all the barbells, kettle bells, benches, and squat racks that fill the space. This is the scene for every Workout of the Day performed in the facility, each led by a member of its staff of Level 1 coaches. Participants may find themselves tackling a new functional-movement workout with every visit, but sweat and exertion are constants.
