At Cool Beans Indoor Playground & Cafe, children frolic in a more than 6,000-square-foot indoor playground among attractions such as a dress-up area, inflatable slides, and an in-floor trampoline. Weekly development classes in arts or music also spur children's mental development. The play center also caters to adults: in a WiFi-connected cafe area, baristas pour coffee and lattes and serve up casual fare, such as fruit-and-chicken salads and Italian-style paninis.

The instructors at Fantasy Farms Equestrian Center help students become comfortable with horses both on and off the saddle. During private lessons, instructors focus purely on riding technique. And during more advanced horsemanship and riding sessions, the educators show serious riders how to tend to essential horse-maintenance duties, such as remembering to top off the tank with unleaded hay. The Fantasy Farms team also shares equine enthusiasm in the form of therapeutic riding sessions, which give children with autism and other cognitive disabilities the opportunity to pet and ride horses in a safe, controlled environment.
Drawing on 17 years of experience, North County Training Facility's seasoned horsewoman, Robin, oversees student-and-steed pairs as they prance beneath the shade of majestic oaks and pines on the 3-acre facility. The enthusiastic instructor concocts curricula to encourage responsibility in young riders while distracting them from less-gainful extracurricular activities, such as giving their guinea pigs mohawks. Lessons extend beyond riding instruction alone to include proper grooming, saddling, and bathing techniques. The school accommodates both recreational and competition-hungry riders as well as those preparing for careers as mounted insurance salesmen.
At Sunshine Riding Academy, what you see is not all you get. On top of the academy's 5 acres of private land—complete with two sand riding arenas—visitors make enjoyable use of the academy's proximity to Riverbend Park and its vast network of trails. Owner and trainer Jennifer Cole oversees all of the horseback comings and goings, conducting private and group lessons within the academy borders and guiding groups on trail-riding adventures. Her lessons focus on the disciplines of hunter/jumper and equitation, tailored to the student's age, ability, and goals for their time in the saddle.
At Palm Beach Kart Center, drivers zoom around paved curves and sprint to the finish line in go karts reminiscent of Formula 1 race cars. Before each heat, competitors pick a number, strap on a helmet, listen to the safety rundown, then wait for the green signal. And like that, they're cruising at top speeds, veering around opponents and jockeying for the lead position and unanimous agreement from friends that sponsorship deals are forthcoming.
