CSA Palm Harbor keeps its neighborhood moving. As the managing body of parks, recreation, and leisure services for the unincorporated community of Palm Harbor, the outfit takes charge by providing affordable, high-quality facilities and programs. CSA Palm Harbor manages three multi-sport complexes and a full-service community activity center. Outside those doors, though, their efforts ripple through the community. They include a municipal kayak launch, a waterside park, fitness workshops, 5K fun runs, and camps for kids who don't want to spend their summer memorizing yearbook messages.
This annual 5K run winds through Genesis Preparatory School's campus?varied terrain that encompasses hills, pine-covered flatwoods, and, of course, gallons of mud. Racers slog through it, and navigate a sprinkling of obstacles, too, but it's worth it at the finish line. Afterwards, participants can enjoy live music and enough food to ensure that no one has to refuel by running the race backward.
Shortly after turning on Waterchase Boulevard, drivers are met by the Waterchase community's large white clubhouse. Inside, certified personal trainer Ryan Anthony draws from specialized training in interval fitness regimens, fat loss, and lean-muscle gain to push residents and nonresidents alike into sleek, muscular shape. The gym and fitness studio hosts personal-training sessions and group classes such as boot camp. Outside, exercisers can access a swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts, and an open field that is perfect for sports and mowing.
At Calta's 24/7 Fitness Clubs, members can work out at any time of day, seven days a week. Instructors at the 24/7 gym also lead group cardio-fitness classes, and personal trainers help clients observe correct form while lifting weights or using machines.
