Opened in January of 1959 by Hazel Verdes, Verdes Tropicana Bowl features 32 lanes, a snack bar, and a lounge with billiard tables and a fully stocked bar. The alley offers open bowling until midnight or later, hosts parties, and oversees bowling leagues and tournaments. In addition to offering shoe and equipment rental, the pro shop supplies bowlers with gear of their own, so they can personalize bowling balls with tick marks indicating the number of pins they have knocked asunder.
Competitors take aim during both regulation-style and free-for-all play on Spent Paintball's two fields. On the speedball field, players traverse artificial turf as they duck behind orange geometric-shaped obstacles to evade their opponents, and on the woodsball field, combatants trample real grass turf that is regularly trimmed by the staff so as not to trip up patrons. Fill stations are conveniently located in the park, and both staging areas and spectator bleachers offer protection from the hot sun or unexpected Skittles downpours.
The Sea Mist drift-fishing fleet first began scouring South Florida waters in 1956. Today, the 72-foot, all-aluminum Sea Mist III picks up where its predecessors left off. It drifts around Boynton Beach while groups attempt to snag grey grouper, red snapper, yellowtail, or any of the other species that are often encountered during excursions. Also on board, the boat's professional crewmembers dole out occasional humor, steady guidance, and assistance—from baiting hooks to cleaning catches.
Sports Planet was designed with the help of local coaches and trainers, and the result is a sprawling entertainment center where games and activities buzz at every turn. Giant bounce houses, including bounce basketball and a sports bounce arena, invite toddlers and older kids to get kinetic and airborne. The facility also includes laser tag, a remote-control car racetrack, and a glow-in-the-dark mini-golf course, as well as carnival games and a 70-machine arcade. The snack bar serves up pizza, drinks, and other snacks.
