David and Allison Falden are card-carrying eye experts. As Fellows of the American Academy of Optometry, they delve into treatment areas ranging from pediatric vision therapy to specialty contact lenses. They also keep eyes focused with treatments for a range of common vision maladies, adjusting prescriptions with routine exams, performing visual rehabilitation for stroke patients, or designing a monocle big enough to fit the mind’s eye. Their practice’s frame shop helps eyes look as sharp as they feel with designer glasses from brands such as Nike, Dior, and Fendi.
At Derickson Vision Consultants, complimentary snacks and refreshments greet visitors before Dr. Derickson—a board-certified optometric physician—and his compatriots utilize state-of-the-art equipment to examine eyes and ocular health. Taking the guesswork out of eye measurements, the staff avoids the continual barrage of "better or worse," questions and instead uses retinal-reflection refractive instruments to determine prescriptions. Meanwhile, kids can watch movies in an optical playhouse, and Dr. Derickson, also a certified aviation vision specialist and a private pilot himself, assists pilots with their vision difficulties and helps them avoid mistakenly landing on fashion-show runways.
At Vue Optical Boutique, owner Dr. Dana M. Nolan and her friendly staff expertly outfit men, women, and kids in stylish luxury glasses and sunglasses from brands such as Gucci, Oliver Peoples, and Kate Spade. Shop the chic boutique and select a pair of luxury frames ($150+) before adding a set of single-vision plastic lenses ($90+). Stylish Tom Ford sunglasses ($380), which include aviators, or Fendis protect peepers from the harsh glare of the sun or a Parcheesi rival. Although not included in this Groupon, Vue Optical Boutique also offers eye-care services that use state-of-the-art equipment such as digital retinal 3-D imaging for vision diagnostics, LASIK evaluations, and comprehensive eye-health examinations.

Jax Vision Care
combines the skills of two optometrists, Dr. Jeffrey Brown and Dr. Colleen King. When not conducting eye exams or treating ocular disease, Dr. Brown sits as a board member of the North Florida Optometric Association; he was also the president at one point. Dr. King, on the other hand, takes breaks from providing all-ages eye exams to head down to Mexico and do more of the same for underprivileged families. Back at Jax Vision Care, they provide a full range of ocular services, including prescribing glasses, providing contacts, treating eye diseases, and hiding funny words in their eye exam charts.
It might be hard to believe considering its vast array of products, but Sears, Roebuck and Co. began with one accessory: watches. In 1886, Richard W. Sears bought a box of unwanted watches from a jeweler, thinking he could turn a profit by selling them. He was correct and committed to the watch business by hiring Alvah C. Roebuck, an experienced watchmaker.
As time went on, though, their business expanded its umbrella far beyond what people wore on their wrists. Sears became known as the place to shop for almost any appliance, from sewing machines to those magical boxes that create water from nothing and clean your clothes.
Today, the stores stock clothing, accessories, electronics, kitchen equipment, tools for outdoor living, and home decor. This variety is sustained by Sears's proprietary brands—Kenmore, Craftsman, and DieHard, to name a few—and other national names that populate the shelves.
