The shaded grounds of Fieldstone Animal Inn offer a rural respite for dogs and cats. Canines gambol in the outdoor playpen, running up ramps, splashing into pools, and sneaking through tunnels. Cats play in an area separate from the dogs and stay overnight in six-level suites, where they can secretly plot to destroy all laser pointers. Owners can also schedule long walks for exercise. In the spa, the staff cleans and fluffs coats using eco-friendly products, while training sessions work to get dogs behaving as well as they look.
Your wash includes all cleaning supplies: an apron, shampoo, towels, dryer, brushes, and the latest skateboard videos to keep your puppy entertained. SoBo's friendly staff can also help you walk (or push) your pooch up the ramp into one of SoBo's extra-large tub stalls (elevated for ergonomic ease), and can also offer you some useful tips on using the facilities in case you're not house-broken. Like the darkest magic, that mass of matted hair, slobber, toenail gunk, and waggy tails will transform back into your happy, yappy ball of unconditional love right before your eyes.
Dogs frolic freely through Charm City Dogs' 3,600-square-foot facility, traversing while enthusiastically making new pals with the other pups. Indoors, the dogs are divided into two rubber-floored play areas; one space is reserved for smaller and calmer dogs, and one space houses larger, more active ones. Staffers oversee the canine romps, often adding toys and treats into the mix to keep things interesting. Dogs hang out in Charm City Dogs for both day care and overnight boarding; owners can even bring messy pups over for bathing sessions.
Originally founded as a safe haven for abused and feral cats in Maryland, Rude Ranch Animal Rescue, Inc. now helps find loving, permanent homes for all types of adoptable animals. The organization still makes feline care one of its priorities through its feral-cat rescue program, which rehabilitates cats removed from potentially abusive and violent situations at parks and playgrounds, with the goal of finding a loving home for each animal. Rude Ranch also provides low-cost spaying and neutering surgeries, helping to reduce the overpopulation that leads shelters to euthanize otherwise healthy animals.
The wellness exam includes a basic physical of your beast's body, during which his or her weight and blood pressure will be measured and noted, as well as an exam of the all-around level of wellness (Heartowrm/Lyme Snap Test and fecal exam for intestinal parasites not included). If the dog doc recommends additional tests for your feral friend, you'll receive 25% off a blood profile (usually between $105 and $150) as well as 25% off dental procedures (usually $493). An additional $25 credit toward any other Maltese-mending or Siamese-soothing service is also included.
