The proprietors of Gleason Wellness and Rehabilitation Center believe that however predisposed the body is toward wellness, it often becomes blocked by age, stress, and unavoidable external forces. Surgery is a common answer to health concerns, but it may not be the right one. That’s why Dr. Gleason’s licensed therapists offer less-invasive avenues to attain wellness, such as acupuncture, physical therapy, and private chiropractic care.
For more than 25 years, Doctor of Chiropractic Ottavio Nepa suffered from debilitating migraines. They were so severe that oftentimes his only recourse was to curl into a ball until they passed—which could sometimes take up to two days. Though he had endured countless tests and previous chiropractic visits, a chance chiropractic appointment with an Atlas Orthogonist cured him of his pain, thereby changing his life.
Just as Atlas carries the weight of the world on his shoulders without blinking, Dr. Nepa felt that he, too, had a weighty responsibility. Devoting his life to dispelling chronic pain, he graduated from Life University’s College of Chiropractic with honors and then studied the Atlas Orthogonal technique for an additional two years. Armed with this extensive knowledge of the human body, Dr. Nepa now works to relieve symptoms of debilitating pain using various techniques, including Atlas Orthogonal, massage therapy, spinal decompression, laser treatments, and active release. Using a client-oriented relief-care method, Dr. Nepa employs his techniques to help rid bodies of chronic pain, allergies, pinched nerves, and a spectrum of other maladies.
Now that Dr. Nepa enjoys a pain-free life, he has the opportunity to pursue his other hobbies, which include playing guitar in a local band, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
Helmed by licensed health and wellness director Dr. Michael Stewart, The Center for Wellness & Rehabilitation ensures long-term health with spinal adjustments, massage, acupuncture, and computerized diagnostics. Rather than treating symptoms as they occur or replacing aching body parts with frozen vegetables, the thoroughly experienced health professionals aim to strike at the root of pain and disease through treatments designed to promote spinal health and rehabilitation from pain or sports injuries.
Inside the office, a burbling waterfall joins with colorful pieces of artwork, relaxing visiting patients. Five treatment rooms spoke off from the main lobby, ensconcing guests in alcoves of cool blues and plush beds as they enjoy the healing benefits of chiropractic treatment, massage, and acupuncture.
Like an enchanted glacial tunnel, The Salt Cavern’s sparkling white walls pulse with gauzy pinks and purples, as crystalline lanterns illuminate powdery tufts of salt covering the floor. But this fairy-tale ambiance belies the cavern’s meticulously calibrated atmosphere: highly concentrated saline aerosol regularly circulates throughout the chamber in an effort to soothe health ailments such as asthma, allergies, or psoriasis.
Owners William and Eva boast backgrounds in the medical industry, but grew disillusioned with chemical therapies after investigating the benefits of salt therapy, a practice that originated in Poland nearly 200 years ago. Now the duo invites clients to experience salt’s therapeutic and calming benefits in their softly lit chamber. In addition to the salt’s calming vapors, William and Eva offer deepened relaxation with yoga sessions in the cave, and enforce a tranquil atmosphere in which clients can nap, meditate, or quietly impersonate the Morton’s Salt girl.
