Fit Female is more than a gym. It's a culture of empowerment that encourages women of all ages to nourish their bodies, minds, and spirit animals through exercise. As a workout facility, Fit Female features more than 40 cardio machines and a recently renovated space where instructors host fitness classes in yoga, spinning, Pilates, and Zumba. Personal-training sessions offer customized workout plans, and amenities such as free childcare, tanning, and an indoor salt-water pool take away any lingering excuses.
Devoted exclusively to indoor cycling, High Velocity Indoor Cycling Studio houses 12 Spinner NXT stationary bikes, allowing for small and intensely focused training sessions. The interval-based workouts are led by a team of trainers who make custom playlists to match the tempo and intensity of each session and blast them over the studio’s immersive sound system, motivating their students through each 45- to 60-minute session.
As someone who got into Pilates to reclaim her pre-motherhood physique, Lisa Moore doesn't expect all her students to be seasoned athletes. She founded Zen Rock Pilates and Spin Studio as a place where both new and experienced students can further their practice in private or small-group classes. In their brand-new space, Lisa and her team of instructors lead reformer and mat Pilates, indoor cycling, and a hybrid class called SpinLates, which integrates both cardio and fat-burning movements. Lisa also developed BodyTone, a class that works both the upper and lower body with a mix of Pilates, yoga, and traditional toning exercises such as trying to push the walls farther apart from each other.
What do Mike Adams of the Denver Broncos and Sloane Serpe of the All-ACC Women's Lacrosse Team have in common? They've trained at 360 Fitness Performance Sports. That's thanks in part to the fitness center's 30,000 square-foot facility that seamlessly incorporates a turf field, a running track, basketball courts, and batting cages. Cardio and weight-training areas allow exercisers to work out on their own schedules or with the help of a trainer and a group fitness studio offers high-energy classes such as kickboxing and boot camp.
Garfield YMCA has promoted healthy lifestyles, youth development, and social responsibility for more than eight decades. While the organization has built new facilities, this core mission remains the same. Instructors teach fitness and swim classes for both kids and adults, and they coach competitive swimming teams at two locations in Garfield. The staff also keeps kids active and safe during before- and after-school care programs.
With a long-standing commitment to the health and well-being of girls, women, and their families, YWCA Bergen County and its fitness classes help strengthen the mind and body, in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. The history of the organization is rich with groundbreaking programs to bolster race relations, achieve women's empowerment, support social-justice issues, and promote children's health by providing access to physical activity. Other fitness initiatives take place in the YWCA's gyms, where instructors put to use training in Zumba, yoga, and other disciplines. Employees further the organization's vision with dedication to school-age programs, child-care, and other health and fitness efforts in our community.
