At artéé fabrics & home, a customer’s vision for a piece of furniture can truly become a reality. Headed by 20-year industry veteran Arti Bhandari Mehta, the staff can draft, design, and build the customer’s envisioned piece and upholster it with a handpicked fabric. These fabrics—which can also be used to make custom draperies and bedding—are the main attraction at artéé, where wall-to-wall racks are draped with thousands of cottons, chenilles, velvets, mohairs, and linens. They arrange their fabrics by color so that clients can easily find fabrics that fit the color palette with which they are working. The showroom also houses yarn, pillow stuffers, and accessories to complement the rich swatches of fabric on display.

Gravity holds no sway over visitors at Sky Zone Providence. Upon donning a pair of specially designed rental shoes, customers step onto a patented, wall-to-wall trampoline to bid the ground farewell. The bouncy surfaces stretch to the walls, where trampolines set at 45-degree angles let kids and adults repeatedly soar through the air like a superhero trying to wrack up frequent flier miles. Staff also mixes organized sports into the jumping equation by hosting games of dodgeball inside the trampoline arena.
Since the founder opened the first Gem Ravioli in 1955, the chefs have been using the same preservative-free recipes to craft their signature handmade ravioli. They stuff the pasta pockets with a classic house blend of cheeses or gourmet ingredients such as butternut squash, mascarpone cheese, and walnuts. Customers may pick up frozen pastas at retail locations or order online.
European friends Pernilla Frazier and Line Daems founded Kreatelier in 2007. Since then, solid local press has helped bring crafters from around the area into the shop. Its quaint quarters feature a diverse collection of product designs including bags, quilts, reusable gift wraps, and various accessories, all enhanced by crafty workshops that educate interested art architects. Rampant pencil collections can be put to rest with large cotton pencil cases ($18), which are washable, rollable, and feature 11 pockets, while manicure and pedicure cases ($15) help keep tools and other grooming paraphernalia from escaping. Keep rebellious flocks of hair at bay with a brightly colored headband ($8), elegantly wrap bottles of precious fermented fruits inside wine bags ($10), or organize a messy back seat with the car-seat organizer ($40), which withstands abuse and the effects of time travel.
