Initially created to rescue mares and foals that were discarded by the drug industry, Dreamchaser Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation now works to save horses and other farm animals from starvation, abuse, abandonment, and slaughter. Volunteers work to gentle and train the horses, many of which come to the ranch wild, until they're comfortable enough to join the herd. On average, a rescued horse spends roughly one year at the ranch. The ultimate goal is to place every animal into a loving, permanent home through the ranch’s adoption program. The organization also works to educate the public about the inhumane treatment of animals and provides enrichment programs for local foster children.
Nestled within 18,500 square feet and designed by award-winning architect Will Bruder, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art's quintet of galleries—formerly a cineplex's five theaters—have hosted changing and permanent exhibitions of art, architecture, and design since 1999. The outdoor sculpture garden features acclaimed pieces such as James Turrell's experiential Knight Rise skyspace and James Carpenter Design Associates' Scrim Wall. After viewing the art outside, visitors can return indoors to explore furnishings and jewelry in the shop or examine work by local youth in the young@art gallery. The museum's Visions Teen Program continues to nurture burgeoning talent, pairing teenagers with visual-art teachers and visiting artists. Adults can also enrich their artistic know-how at lectures and workshops until they are able to draw a perfect circle with a pencil still tucked behind their ear. The museum's lounge fosters artistic communities through events ranging from screenings of international art movies to art-making sessions.

In life and at C3 Kitchen, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. From 7 a.m. onwards, staff begin cooking up healthy dishes to start the day. They put together plates of bagels with cream cheese, lox, and veggies, and layer egg sandwiches with a choice of meat on a buttermilk roll. As for drinks, they don't just pour coffee. Instead, they offer multiple brewing styles and coffee drinks, from french press to chemex to espresso. After the breakfast rush, chefs switch over to hot and cold sandwiches and salads that follow traditional comfort-food recipes such as the roast beef and coleslaw, as well as healthy alternatives such as lemon-dijon salads and veggie wraps.

Though some participants choose to run and others to walk, everybody who participates in the Color Dash experiences a transformation. As participants make their way through the 5K Color Dash and UVSplash courses they are subjected to bursts of color; additional events include Zombies by Color Dash, which adds the undead to the equation. Though the color will wash away, the memories will remain forever in the minds of all participants who aren't goldfish. Proceeds from Color Dash events benefit local children's charities and organizations.
