CrossFit Newnan's trainers never lead the same workout twice. Their CrossFit exercises break past fitness plateaus and boredom with high-intensity challenges that change daily, with a focus on ramping up functional movements such as pushing, squatting, and pulling. Trainers are mindful of form, ensuring that exercises are safe and effective from first movement to last; they can also adjust the intensity for any fitness level. While they've stocked the gym with training equipment such as pull-up bars, jump ropes, kettlebells, and climbing ropes, they also sometimes head to a local park for a change of scenery and a chance to pose for local topiary artists.
Each group session fosters a spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition, motivating exercisers to put their best tire-flip forward. Trainers stay squarely in each member’s corner, keeping track of their progress and offering nutritional support as needed.
Spread across CrossFit Maximum Capacity’s open studio space, a collection of weight-training, cardio, and plyometric equipment stand ready for use during the ever-changing exercises that make up a CrossFit class. Daily classes feature a Workout of the Day (WOD), which could include anything from handstand lunges to kettlebell swings, designed to work a wide range of muscle groups.
The CrossFit-certified coaches at CrossFit 946 want their clients to get in the best shape of their lives while having fun. Each group class is more like a sports team, with coaches and participants working together to achieve their personal fitness goals during the Workout of the Day. The coaches motivate and inspire members to push themselves to see better results, which include fat loss and lean-muscle gain.
The kickboxing classes at Explosive Sports MMA & Fitness are deceptively named—they cover much more than kickboxing. Beyond training on speed bags and heavy bags, students work with weight poles, dumbbells, and medicine balls in exercises that range from plyometrics and strength training to MMA moves. For more combative workouts, full-contact MMA classes blend muay thai, jujitsu, and kenpo with kickboxing and boxing, creating a self-defense system that’s more comprehensive than giving threatening people big hugs. Age-appropriate classes for kids round out the fitness studio’s class schedule.
Unit 2 Fitness is a locally owned fitness martial arts gym located in midtown Atlanta, GA. Unit 2 was founded by a small group of martial artists and professional fighters. Like many of you we loathed corporate big box gyms. We wanted something for people that wanted hard core fitness and demanded results.
At CrossFit IV, NASM-certified personal trainer Archie Brown and fellow trainer Matt Cook introduce CrossFit's functional exercises to nearly all ages. Their CrossFit Kids program welcomes children as young as 3 and their adult program welcomes grown-ups as old as 147. Both programs revolve around CrossFit's daily workout. Depending on the day, the workout may include rope climbs, pull-ups, dead lifts, box jumps, or the tyke-size version of box jumps—hopping on a short stack of weights. With both CrossFit Level 1 and CrossFit Kids certifications, Brown and Cook know exactly what they're doing when coordinating classes.
