The Garden State Rollergirls, New Jersey's all-female, flat-track roller-derby league, is comprised of local teams of strong, sexy skaters. The object of a game is for a player to skate around the track while offensively and defensively hitting and passing girls on the opposing team. This intoxicatingly entertaining sport plays by mottos such as "bruises are badges of glory" and "skate like the badass, tough-as-nails rollergirls we are," which is why each player has a pseudonym to reflect her style of play such as "Lady Vengeance," "I Don't Care Bear," and "First Derby, Might Have Just Wet My Pants."
Any day of the week, hop over to The Sports Place for rollicking barrels of unrefined fun in batting cages, game rooms, full basketball courts, laser-tag zones, and more. The inflatable playground provides kids of any age with space to jump, roll, climb, and dive on anything from an oversized dragon to an appropriately sized mega-slide ($9 all-day admission per person). For additional all-ages fun, swing through The Sports Place's signature GloPutt mini-golf course, a Neotastic, glow-in-the-dark wonderland packed with motorized obstacles that, if dodged correctly, light up the faces and giggleplexes of any child ($7 per round per person). If you're feeling weak-kneed from physical exertion, refuel at The Sports Place's snack bar.

The track and field training staff at SCI has coached and trained more than 30,000 athletes—and that statistic is always growing. At his training facility, Sports Conditioning Institute, he and his team encourage athletes with sports-specific training, focusing on games including hockey and volleyball, and lead fit-seekers in two boot-camp styles. The common thread running through every workout is Vaccaro’s focus on avoiding overstressing bodies and preventing injuries. He emphasizes short and frequent workouts, for example, rather than long routines that can lead to sustaining injury, becoming burnt out, or accidentally running into another country without your passport. To complement coached workouts, the gym hosts an array of free weights and cardio machines for solo sessions.
At Energy Fitness & Performance Center, members can decide what workout suits them best. That's because the sprawling facility allows them to exercise on their own, in a group, or one-on-one with a personal trainer. They can create a personalized workout with treadmills, ellipticals, and free weights in the sun-soaked gym. Or, they can head to the studio for fitness classes such as spinning, Zumba, and boot camp. They can also get pointers on bench-pressing and building muscles during personal training sessions. These sessions are designed to help members reach individual goals such as completing a marathon or having a town in Greece unveil you as a Zeus statue.
