Purcurscents Candles specializes in helping people bring an extra bit of warmth into their homes in the form of gently flickering candles. These glowing accent pieces are made entirely of pure, additive-free soy wax. An entirely natural formula has the added benefit of a longer-lasting scent, which ensures that rooms maintain a subtle hint of lavender or vanilla for longer than with traditional candles. Additionally, Purcurscents Candles uses cleaner and smoother burning cotton wicks in all of its products?a relatively small touch that helps significantly prolong the life of a candle. Although the staff mainly helps customers find the perfect candle or candle holder, they also offer classes, teaching students how to make their own soy candles within the comfort of their own home or favorite wax museum.
uBreakiFix CEO Justin Wetherill spoke with Groupon about the importance of protecting your smartphone and the challenges of fixing a phone that has been dropped into a deep fryer.
On the worst thing you can do after cracking your smartphone?s glass screen
?Don?t just put it into your pocket and continue to use it,? Wetherill says. The broken glass can actually cause serious damage to the phone?s inner components and turn a relatively simple fix into a costly repair job.
On the repair process
"Look, this is something we do every day," Wetherill says. "You are not the first person to break a phone.? Collectively, uBreakiFix's highly trained technicians repair more than 20,000 devices a month, drawing from a library of high-quality parts that are tested twice before they ever get used in a repair service. Free diagnostics are a staple at all uBreakiFix locations, so customers understand the problem before any work is done.
On growing his business
uBreakiFix began as a business based out of Wetherill?s living room, and it now boasts more than 60 locations nationwide. ?We are proof that the American dream is alive,? he says.
On unusual repair jobs
Wetherill remembers one fast-food employee who dropped her phone into a restaurant?s deep fryer. ?It smelled pretty bad,? he said; however, the repairs were successful. Another customer lost his phone in a cement mixer. After some serious effort, the technicians were able to safely recover all of the important data, but the phone died a few hours later. As Wetherill pointed out, ?it did go through a cement mixer.? Some miracles just aren?t meant to be.
On the importance of a one-day turnaround time
Repairs at uBreakiFix?s store locations can often take as little as an hour, according to Wetherill. This is a critical part of the shops' focus?something Wetherill personally understands. If forced to choose between spending the weekend without his smartphone or his left arm, he jokes that he would pick the arm. ?Of course, this is assuming that there wouldn?t be any pain,? he laughs.

When course architect Roy Case designed the 36 holes that would become Wildcat Golf Club, he drew inspiration from two distinct styles by laying traditional Scottish links-style holes over the undulating Texas Hill Country topography. Players encounter lots of tall grasses but few trees as they eventually reach 100-foot elevations, where they?ll catch glimpses of Houston?s skyline, Reliant Stadium, and the Galleria. The Club is divided into two 18-hole courses?the Highlands Course and the Lakes Course?each blanketed in TifSport Bermuda grass fairways and TifEagle Bermuda putting surfaces so smooth that golfers have reported reaching into the cup and pulling out a single red rose instead of their golf ball.
Though situated next to one another, each course bears its own unique set of challenges. Deep ravines and strategically placed bunkers befuddle players on the Highlands Course, while the Lakes Course lives up to its name with water as its defining characteristic. A series of lakes comes into play on seven holes, nowhere more dramatically than on the twelfth hole, a unique par 5 configuration whose tee box, two fairway sections, and green are separated by intersecting water hazards, which double as watering holes for thirsty golf carts.
Highland Course at a Glance: * 18-hole, par 72 course * Total length of 6,954 yards from the back tees * Course rating of 73.6 from the back tees * Course slope of 138 from the back tees * Five sets of tees per hole
Lakes Course at a Glance: * 18-hole, par 72 course * Total length of 7,016 yards from the back tees * Course rating of 73.2 from the back tees * Course slope of 135 from the back tees * Five sets of tees per hole
Tiny legs scamper across Lone Star Bounce Town's 9,000-square-foot floor, bounding from one cushy inflatable to the next and pausing before a gallery of kid-friendly toys and games. Disney-inspired bounce houses populate the open space, including new plush slides and domiciles that pay homage to the bubbly heroes of Toy Story 3, Winnie the Pooh, and Dante's Inferno. Tykes hone their hand-eye coordination by shooting hoops on the inflatable basketball court, cracking plastic balls off baseball tees, or threading straws into juice boxes in the Lone Star Cafe. A special subsection designed for toddlers, Lone Star's Tiny Town, features scaled-down playhouses, toy cars, and colorful, bouncy balls.
The clatter of foosball and air-hockey tables makes a steady drumbeat, over which drifts the sounds of an arcade—the happy digital babble of a modem dreaming. Ten leather couches with a full view of the children accommodate parents as they surf free WiFi and enjoy coffee from the café.
