At Okanagan Street Striders, mobile elliptical machines break free from the gym’s stationary rows and help exercisers grab some fresh air during their cross-training workouts. A fitness-savvy staff acquaints riders with their mounts, which target muscles all over the body without unnecessary impact or unnatural motions. Riders glide along paved trails and pathways, taking in a scenic alternative to staring at television screens, helping riders avoid the cardio room’s cramped confines or tempting smells from the gym's in-house bakery. In addition to daily rentals, Okanagan Street Striders also organizes group night rides.
Rollingdale Winery is a small farm gate winery located in Lakeview Heights, in West Kelowna. We are 100% family owned and operated. Our focus is on producing fine wines using only premium grapes made from the most conscientiously cultivated vines we can find.
Even as it soars across the deep, clear blue waters of Lake Okanagan, the Lake Lounge keeps its passengers, crew, and cooperative stowaways connected to a bevy of land-based pleasures. A comprehensive sound system blasts pleasurable beats throughout its two decks, and three flat-screen TVs reaching widths up to 50 inches broadcast the passengers' choice of entertainment. On the lower deck, vaulted ceilings soar over dinner tables and an electric fireplace keeps the room warm in colder weather, and on the open top deck passengers bask in lake breezes and take in panoramic views of the water and evergreen-coated shoreline. When not focused on the scenery, they step across an elevated dance floor lit by multicoloured lights or discuss their favourite childhood pet fish over tipples from a fully stocked bar.
Dinner-cruise passengers sup on a daily-changing menu that cycles through regular entrees such as cedar-plank salmon and peach barbecue chicken. As the Lake Lounge sails past opulent lakeside homes and the city skyline, the sun colours the sky as it sets and the stars sleepily stumble into place to form their constellations. The ship's crews also host wedding receptions, family reunions, and birthday parties on the dual decks.
Tangled in the hushed vines of British Columbia's scenic wine country, Okanagan Wine Country Tours weaves grape aficionados through breathtaking and informative excursions. The seven-hour trek across Naramata Bench commences as the moon melts at 9:30 a.m. and swiftly swoons over the Okanagan's cradled valley, breaking for a vineyard lunch (for an additional cost). Inhale the fresh aromas blooming in a glass of wine from one of the five to eight winery stops along the way, or trip along the undulating hillsides, scanning the pristine pastures for signs of secret government bunkers. Possible tour legs include the Elephant Island Orchard Winery, Kettle Valley Winery, and more.
Above 70 acres of orchards, vineyards, and alpaca farms, riders at Oyama Zipline Forest Adventure can soar seated or even upside down. That's thanks to Oyama's universal harness, whose automatic brakes also let riders dangle over particularly stunning views of Kalamalka Lake and nearby beaches. The park's seven ziplines?followed closely one after the other over a period of about three hours?range from leaps off 50-foot-tall towers to rides that begin through trapdoors. On Oyama's final double line, two participants fly down a 1,514-foot-long line at up to 85 kilometers per hour, about the speed of cheetah on a leisurely stroll.
All summer, Kelowna Dinner Cruises charters guests down Okanagan Lake’s 35 kilometres of scenic shoreline while feting them with meals, live music, and cozy fireplaces. Aboard the 76-foot luxury cruise boat, passengers nosh steak, salmon, or escargot from the climate-controlled lower deck or carry their champagne glasses to the upper deck for fresh air and full view of the area’s rolling hills and azure waters. In addition to public cruises, all of which can be supplemented with food, guests can charter the boat for weddings, receptions, or staff parties.
