  • The Montgomery Zoo
    The Montgomery Zoo houses more than 500 animals from five continents, including endangered species such as the Indian rhino, the slender-horned gazelle, and the jaguar. Explore more than 40 acres of landscaped, barrier-free habitats chock full of elephants and monkeys, and stop to feed otters, koi, and giraffes, who happily lap up treats from visitors as part of the zoo's Animal Encounters feature ($0.50–$2.00 for feed, not included in the Groupon). The aviary features birds flying about uncaged, taking instructions from loud-mouthed children, and the pedal-boat ride provides a 30-minute float on Crystal Lake.

  • Wild Animal Safari
    A tiger sits beneath the setting sun, her tail beating the ground as her gaze locks onto a man passing by. Luckily, the two aren’t deep in the jungle, but at Wild Animal Safari outside Atlanta, where guests view these majestic animals from the safety of slow-moving vehicles. During tours, personal cars and guided buses wind through 3.5 miles of the park’s territory, passing the habitats of 650 animals such as camels, zebras, and american bison. After the driving tour, safari groups set out on foot to spy smaller animals, including lemurs and peacocks, with opportunities to feed and pet some species. Afterward, pizza and burgers await the hungry at the safari café, and the Wild Animal gift shop offers mementos such as T-shirts and stuffed safari guides.

  • Dream Field Farms and Pumpkin Patch
    Each fall, when the pumpkins are plump and the corn grows high, Dream Field Farms and Pumpkin Patch welcomes the public to its acres of family-friendly fun. Wander through the pumpkin patch to find the perfect canvas for carving a jack-o-lantern or place bets on the fastest looking piglet during high-stakes pig races.   • Chehaw
    As one of the only two accredited zoos in Georgia, aside from Zoo Atlanta, Chehaw continues to be devoted to its founding principles of conservation, preservation and education. Chehaw offers the rare opportunity to see animals such as rhinos, lemurs, bison, and cheetahs, which live in an animal park originally designed by Wild Animal host Jim Fowler. Chehaw's 700 acres also house land dedication to conservation, a BMX bike track, an education center, and camping grounds. The Park offers recreational opportunities for all species of visitors.

  • Yule Forest Pumpkin Patch
    Autumn might be the busiest time of year at Yule Forest Pumpkin Patch, but the farm actually celebrates all the seasons with U-pick events throughout the year. In summer, families come to the farm to pick sweet blueberries to eat raw or bake into pies; in winter, they head to the tree farm to pick a perfect fir, cypress, or pine for their holiday decorating. Of course, Yule Forest is a pumpkin patch first and foremost, and saves the best fun for fall. Pumpkins ripen on the vine and wait to be turned into jack-o'-lanterns or shot from the farm's pumpkin cannon. Hayrides escort riders around the grounds and to the fun zone where they'll find activities such as slides, horse races, and an obstacle course. Between stints at the talking chicken show or the pick-your-own sunflower garden, kids and adults can drop by the petting zoo to swap tin can recipes with the goats, or head to the bee house to learn about nature's busiest insects. Of course, no autumn adventure would be completely without a bit of spine-tingling fun, which is why Yule Forest Pumpkin Patch also hosts a haunted house attractions on weekends after dark only.

  • Little Vine Petting Zoo
    Whether cuddling a tiny spotted piglet, nuzzling a baby goat, or cradling a fuzzy bunny, it's nearly impossible to suppress affectionate coos during a visit to Little Vine Petting Zoo. The zoo abounds with creatures of all kinds, from gentle donkeys to soft alpacas to one spiny hedgehog. Ponies and horses trot down the trail with wee riders on their backs, guests can opt for hay rides, and take pictures inside of rustic stagecoach. Ambling down a tree-lined road, the farm’s colorful train transports guests around the area. The cheerful farm staffers also host bashes onsite and can travel for on-location parties, bringing along ponies and animals to delight guests at birthday parties or confuse bridesmaids at weddings. As a USDA–licensed petting zoo, the farm owners pride themselves in caring for their animals as an extension of their family. When they’re not introducing their barnyard companions to visitors, the owners breed and show Nigerian dwarf goats as a full-time goat farmers.
