El Cantinflas Bar's menu embodies the traditions of Puerto Rican cuisine, specifically comida criolla. Since 2004, the Northern Liberties eatery has been serving authentic dishes ranging from Mexican-inspired tacos to more traditional meals, including mofongo with fried pork, stuffed plantains with steak and cheese, and quesadillas brimming with steak and shrimp. An array of tropical drinks such as passion-fruit champagne help to wash down bites of the spice-laden, hearty fare. El Cantinflas also entertains its guests with events such as Thursday- and Sunday-night karaoke and live DJ sets on Friday and Saturday nights, which coax diners out of their seats onto the dance floor much like every bride's mother on their daughter's wedding day.

A sea of red and white floods The Crazy Leprechaun Bar & Grill during the spring and summer, only to switch to midnight green, black, and silver throughout fall and winter. Whether the Phillies or the Eagles take the field, The Crazy Leprechaun broadcasts every game for win-hungry fans and sates their matching appetites with hearty appetizers and entrees, such as buffalo wings, rib-eye steaks, and jumbo lump crab-cakes hurled at 90mph from behind the bar. On certain nights, the kitchen piles up all-you-can-eat portions of fresh snow crab, matched with mugs of beers and plenty of karaoke and live music.
Many people think of acting as a mystical gift, but Bernard Glincosky knows better. Like any skill, acting requires practice, and that’s where The Philadelphia Acting Studio comes in. At the studio, aspiring thespians bulk up their skills through a variety of classes taught by seasoned actors, producers, and directors. Himself a Hollywood veteran, Glincosky employs a stable of experienced instructors including acting teachers who have worked with the likes of Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, Ron Pearlman, and Martin Scorcese. Classes are offered throughout the week, covering scene work, audition tactics, and how to cry on command when the maitre d' can’t find an empty table.
Murph's Bar matches its full bar with a full kitchen that fires its food cannon until 1 a.m. every night. In addition to boasting pulled-pork and cheesesteak sandwiches, the menu also tells tales of 12-inch pizzas topped with spinach, shrimp, and ricotta cheese. Inside, eclectic furnishings such as a jewelry-wearing bear head and old beer signs surround a lengthy wooden bar bedecked in hundreds of shiny pennies. On the ceiling, a colorful mural of hunters stalking snakes, boars, buffalo, and dogs illustrates a common event throughout human history, the zoo escape.
In 2004, five longtime friends decided to turn their love of American craft beer and classic arcade games into a business model. The result was Barcade, which unleashes night owls upon dozens of 1980s arcade consoles as bartenders pull from a nearly equal number of taps. Their rotating selection of American craft beers features creations from such breweries as Allagash, Founders, and Victory, each pint the ideal complement to vintage games ranging from Galaga and Centipede to Donkey Kong and Q*Bert. In addition to their unending search for the tastiest brews and the best games, the owners also commit to running their business in an ecologically conscious manner. At any given time, at least 75% of their beer list is made up of styles brewed within a few miles of the bar, allowing them to return empty kegs to their original breweries for cleaning and reuse. They garnish their cocktails with compostable and sustainable drinking straws and stirring sticks, and sling them atop a bar constructed from found and recycled materials. Even the electricity used to power the arcade machines hails from local wind farms, where farmers spend all day blowing out birthday candles.
