Metta Yoga?s Zuzana Kolinkova, star of the popular DVD The Art of Flow Yoga, helms a staff of seasoned instructors that spans two studio locations and leads indoor and outdoor classes steeped in several yoga traditions, including Hatha, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa. Metta Yoga offers a variety of new and unique classes such as Yoga Walk, Yoga Therapy, and Aqua Yoga at the Phoenician Pools. Classes at The Phoenician Spa?s Centre for Well-Being often take place outside, where students can exhale stress as they admire a relaxing landscape of palm trees, fountains, and spanish-tile rooftops. Spring-green walls and lush potted plants line the Phoenix studio, helping students enjoy nature and prevent shouting matches with raindrops.

The trainers at Ultimate Body Boot Camp forage through the workout wilderness to curate a fitness omnibus. They pull from multiple exercise styles—including Pilates, plyometrics, kickboxing, yoga, and core work—to build workouts that combine the benefits of cardio and resistance training. This earned the program a top spot on Arizona Foothills magazine's Best of Our Valley list for 2012.

To keep clients' muscles from hitting the wall, getting bored, or taking off in the dead of night to pursue a career as an anatomy textbook model, coaches change the routine each class and give campers personalized tips to fuel individual journeys. Body-composition tests and nutritional plans augment the sessions, inspiring long-lasting habits for healthy physiques.

Coach Mitch started Beginners Edge Sports Training in 2005 as a soccer program for kids. Now, he operates a variety of sports classes including basketball, football, golf, and karate for kids as young as 18 months. These age-appropriate programs introduce the skills of the sport gradually, challenging kids at first to gain coordination and eventually to strategize, scrimmage, and switch agents mid-season. In addition to its regular sessions, Beginners Edge Sports Training runs summer camps, sports parties, and parent's night out events.

Village Health Clubs & Spas are one-stop shops for fitness training, spa services, and amenity-stuffed facilities. One month of access to their four locations allows visitors to use the Village fitness equipment, clean up in the available locker rooms, shoot hoops on basketball courts, swim in lap pools, and much more. The two-week guided fitness program kick-starts fitness routines long stymied by malaise, time constraints, and road-blocking donut holes; with the aid of a helpful Village staff member, you'll get started by figuring out precisely where your goals and interests lie on the muscle map. A nutrition warm-up will educate you in the ways of healthy food choices, and a 60-minute fitness intro with a certified personal trainer will get hearts pumping and tendons quivering. You'll also be introduced to the vast panoply of available cardio equipment and group yoga and Pilates classes. Finally, "adventure time" commences with a workout, hike, bike ride, or round of tennis, the sport most avidly followed by excitable canines.

Looking at her today, you'd never guess that Christina Lucy struggled during gym class in school. She didn't consider herself an athlete, and often watched as coaches cajoled her classmates when they really needed encouragement and support. That rough introduction to the world of physical fitness could have left a bitter taste in her mouth, but instead, Christina let it fuel her desire to improve herself and help other women do the same.

Christina created Code Pink Boot Camp as a place where women could go to find the encouragement, empathy, and, most importantly, the tools they needed to meet their personal fitness goals. The one-hour boot camps combine strength- and functional-training with cardio drills, obstacle courses, and flexibility exercises like yoga, and each exercise can be completely tailored to each woman's individual goals, whether they want to drop 10 pounds or simply fit back into the slim-cut hot dog suit they wore to prom. And, of course, fun and safety are always given top priority in every boot camp, meaning instructors will never push participants beyond their limitations or turn the workout into a competition.
