Russo and Steele are not people. The company's founders are Drew and Josephine Alcazar, and they chose the name of their collector-automobile auction company to honor not themselves but the traditions of their industry: Russo from russo robino, the name of Ferrari's signature dark-red paint color, and Steele to celebrate the material and toughness of classic muscle cars forged in Detroit.
The Alcazars pride themselves on offering a meticulously curated selection of vehicles; they're serious about cars. So are the collectors who flock to their in-the-round auctions, where they're allowed to touch, sit in, and begin bonding with the vehicles up for sale. Although they mean business, there's nothing solemn about the auctions themselves. In fact, they're so reliably entertaining that plenty of people come just to watch the fast-paced action as bidders excitedly angle for, say, a 1965 Cobra roadster or a 1953 Buick Skylark convertible. Russo and Steele's reputation in the auto-collecting community is high enough that it's often chosen to showcase extremely rare supercars?for instance, a one-of-a-kind 2013 SRT Viper GTS put up for auction to benefit the Sons of Italy Foundation in a 2014 event.
When Jason Kaplan discovered an untapped transportation niche in the hotel and resort industry, he started The Driver Provider. In the beginning, his one-man operation transported just a handful of clients. He let his business grow naturally, relying on word of mouth instead of hiring a sales staff or a team of skywriting dragons. Over time, he built relationships with luxury resorts and Fortune 100 companies, amassing a fleet of 1,200 sedans, vans, limos, buses, and SUVs. Because of his good reputation, the readers of Arizona Foothills voted The Driver Provider the Best Limo and Sweet Rides in 2011. In addition to running his business, Jason Kaplan was president of the Arizona Limousine Association for two years.
