Amid the bright lights and engaging attractions of the Arizona State Fair, Beerfest fills mouths with local brews, craft beers, and traditional American favorites. Quaff local bounty as Arizona brewers Sleepy Dog, Mogollon, and Mudshark serve three specialties each, or refresh palates with Anheuser-Busch mainstays—such as Stella, Beck's, and Bud Light—hewn from wheat, laced with lime, or crammed with beer. Inventive craft brews tickle tongues as pairs jointly gulp from a roster boasting brews including Deschutes’s Mirror Pond pale ale, Odell’s 90 Shilling, and Kona's Pipeline Porter. Between knocking back fermented fare and brainstorming plans to construct a home beer moat, fair-goers can gawk at events and attractions at the fair, such as the Phoenix Police Department's K-9 competition or roller-skating battles by the Arizona Derby Dames, both on October 30.

Beyond FilmBar’s colorful marquee lie two separate, yet complementary spaces. At the beer and wine bar, bartenders fill glasses with a dozen wines and more than 25 craft beers, including brews from Four Peaks and Deschutes. A candy stand and murals depicting Chevy Chase and Queen Latifah hint at what else is here: a 70-seat “microcinema” where audiences take in foreign, independent, cult classic, and local films. The theater is completely soundproofed, so moviegoers won’t have to tune out the buzz of lingering barflies, and bar patrons won't have their evening ruined by the sound of Arnold Schwarzenegger's sobering singing voice.
Kenneth Donald Rogers—an American country-music star, photographer, producer, actor, and fellow with a nice beard—has won three Grammys and more than a dozen American Music Awards for his sweet, stirring crooning. Though he won't be toting his dozens of awards, Mr. Rogers will be bringing an impressive showcase of selections from his extensive collection of country hits. To prep the crowd for the main event, The Herndon Brothers—a local act lead by Ray Herndon, a country star known for livin' the dream—will layer the crowd in hometown vibes from their wide library of inspiring and honest tracks.
