All Seasons Sports Academy's massive indoor arena helps athletes of all ages strengthen their bodies and hone their skills in field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, baseball, softball, and football. At any time of year, a qualified and experienced staff coaches youth soccer players on the indoor turf field, helps pitchers shave down their ERA on the fully retractable pitching and hitting tunnels, and teaches the perfect swing technique during golf clinics. Kids and student athletes learn teamwork skills and accomplish personal goals during youth sports camps, and adults burn calories and build muscle during Zumba and self-defense classes.
Across five full days of action, kids young and semi-young will undergo a comprehensive camp curriculum chock-full of running, throwing, catching, blocking, teamworking, confidence building, high-fiving, and more. If desired, campers ages 11–14 with at least one year of tackle football experience may enroll in the accelerated-skills sections, which feature advanced lessons in the same non-contact environment. All campers are led by professional educators from the high-school and collegiate level, and each day's knowledge bowl soars even higher with visits from Eagles greats, ranging from Fred Barnett to the great Pete Retzlaff (Philadelphia Eagles players vary by camp location). By teaming up with experienced players and coaches, kids will be treated to comprehensive instruction that goes beyond purely mechanical skills.
Maplezone Sports Institute has a straightforward mission: creating a safe training environment for athletes of all ages. It's not as simple as it may sound, though?for one, it requires a lot of real estate. The Institute contains tens of thousands of square feet of training space, between the Academy building, the Fieldhouse building, and currently-in-construction Sports Village. Within the space, they have a skilled set of expert coaches overseeing one-on-one or small group lessons in baseball, softball, lacrosse, and soccer. In addition to teaching the specific techniques needed to play the sports, such as ball-handling, bat swinging, and victory dancing, the coaches help their clients to both get stronger, move faster, and feel better.
The perfect weapon to stave off a boring afternoon, Maple Sports Arena invites visitors to zip around its inline skating rink, hit up the arcade, or explore its indoor jungle gyms. Kids can glide around the rink during open skate before refueling at the snack bar with personal pizzas and sodas. After that, they're welcome to swap out skates for sneakers to conquer five-story Marple Mountain?a technicolor climbing landscape that's littered with ropes, obstacles, and ladders?or head to the indoor rock wall to conquer vertical space and claim the wall as your own with your family's flag.
As the only professional coed team sport in the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii, World TeamTennis provides tennis enthusiasts with an adventurous approach to match play. A single match consists of two teams made up of high-ranking men's and women's professionals. These four-player teams (two men and two women) battle one another across a five-set gauntlet—the one-on-one onslaught of men's and women's singles, the low-five-laden lusciousness of men's and women's doubles, and the gender-juxtaposed jubilation of mixed doubles. Whoever wins the majority takes home bragging rights and, possibly, temporary immortality. This year's Philadelphia Freedoms roster features fast-serving superstar Andy Roddick alongside pros such as Ramon Delgado and Courtney Nagle.
Aiming to make exotic cooking an approachable feat for even the least experienced chef, Let's Cultivate Food employs friendly chefs who perform culinary magic in private kitchens, traveling up to 25 miles from Conshohocken, Philadelphia (extra fee for highway tolls, bridges, and city parking) to your home. With a variety of themed menus to choose from?including sushi-making, exotic stir-fried rice, and soups?cooking-party hosts can set their food preferences before a duo of chefs arrives with all the necessary fresh ingredients. Participants then learn to cook dishes, such as Pad Thai or BLT spring rolls, before enjoying each dish in the comfort of their homes and the familiar grooves of a favorite chair.
