Enchanting Creations specializes in edible art created under the direction of owner and head designer Karen Matamoros. Karen and her husband, Alex, decided to open the bakery shop in their backyard after living in the community for more than two decades. In their free time, they pour themselves into art-⎯expressing themselves by painting murals, designing fashion, and building custom furniture⎯and the bakery has become an additional extension of their creative sides.
In running the bakery, they take their artistic aspirations to new heights with 3-D cakes: edible sculptures that represent a variety of cartoon characters and inanimate objects, such as a ribbon-wrapped present, Spider-Man, or a giant bowling ball. Their smaller treats—including cake pops, pastries, and cupcakes—combine rich cocoa, fresh fruits, fluffy cake, and sugary sweet icing into bite-size portions and delicate desserts. Testifying to Enchanting Creations' dedication to the environment, all orders ship out in eco-friendly boxes, unlike most bakery goods, which are packaged in wasteful styrofoam boxes, surrounded by styrofoam peanuts, and topped with styrofoam sprinkles.
The talented team at Sweet Escape creates dazzling dessert tables to help make sure each event is memorable. The spread can include treats such as red-velvet cupcakes, double-fudge brownies, cheesecakes, truffles, and cake pops, and can be tailored to suit events such as wedding receptions or your dog?s first day of college. To create a dramatic tablescape, Sweet Escape?s staff uses ceramic cake-stands, glass vases, and shot glasses. The culinary team also designs cakes, offering a range of flavor and filling combinations, such as coconut cake with a cream-cheese filling.

To say that liquid nitrogen is cold would be an understatement?it boils at -195.8 degrees Celsius. But, as the ice-cream makers at Nitrogen Ice Cream Factory know, that remarkable fact can be put to delicious use. They use the liquid to quick-freeze ice cream, crafting each rich scoop to order on appropriately scientific looking equipment.

With more than 1,000 different types of cheese made within its borders, France is known as the cheese capital of the world. So naturally, it's the country from which The Cheese Course imports most of its inventory?75 types to be exact. These include brie de meaux, fromager d'affinois truffles, and roquefort, one of France's oldest cheeses and one that is still ripened in the same cool, damp caves of Combalou.
Of course, France isn't the only region represented at The Cheese Course. The European-style cheese shop introduces patrons to more than 150 artisanal cheeses imported from dairy farms all over the world. Most of the cheese makers use the same cheese-making methods that have been passed down through their families for generations via email. The house cheesemonger guides patrons through the cheese-selection process and teaches them how best to serve each one.
The shop also shows off its wares in various bistro sandwiches, including gourmet grilled cheese and the popular prosciutto di parma. This 14-month-aged, imported Italian meat gets its nutty flavor from the parmigiano-reggiano whey in the pig's diet.
