With studios in East Greenbush and West Sand Lake, the Isabelle School of Dance has introduced the joy of dance to thousands of local children of all ages and has helped them build confidence and make memories for over two decades. Classes offered in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, and fitness for ages 3 through adult.
eba Center for Dance and Fitness is eba’s school for adults and teens offering dance, fitness, ethnic, and theater classes in a noncompetitive, NYC-style studio environment. The goal of eba Center for Dance and Fitness is to keep our community healthy and strong through exercise.
The Conservatory instructs students of all ages and skill levels in ballet, pointe, modern,contemporary, jazz, tap, acrobatics, musical theater and hip-hop style dance, in a state-of-the-art facility in East Longmeadow Massachusetts. Students may choose a pre-professional, competitive, or recreational course of study.
Certified by the Professional Dance Vision International Dance Association, Van Dance’s graceful groove gurus walk pupils of all experience levels through ballroom and Latin dance sessions. Under the tutelage of competitive dancers Nicole and John van Koetsveld, students of South American shimmying can learn to unleash passionate tangos, jubilant cha-chas, and seductive sambas, and aspiring waltzers can study how to count to three. For those lacing up their dancing shoes for the first time, Van Dance recommends sampling the American-style of smooth and rhythm dancing, since it utilizes many of the most fundamental moves and comes in handy at common social dance events and tense test rooms for the Connecticut Bar exam. Most classes take place on evenings from Tuesday through Friday (check out the schedules for February and March.
A performance-dance school established in 2006, Velocity Dance Works educates students ranging from toddler through adult on the style of more than 20 different dances. The school's seasoned instructors maintain an energized, encouragement-packed environment that caters to both serious students looking to develop their technique as well as casual students in search of a new hobby that exercises both the body and the mind.
Brass City Ballet's classes translate emotions into movement. The dance classes take all forms including graceful ballet for students of all ages, energetic modern and jazz, and teen and adult yoga to get bodies and minds balanced. Dance Discovery classes teach kids aged 3–5 how to move to music and Booiaka card dance fitness helps build up a sweat and work off excess weight.
With decades of experience in jazz, tap, lyrical, and hip-hop dance to go with teaching certifications from Dance Masters of America, the instructors at All-Stars Dance Center help students glide and stomp through classes in a variety of styles. They work with students of all abilities, refining skills in age-appropriate subject areas such as boys’ hip-hop, tiny tots, and adult tap. Aside from the regular class schedule, special programs in competitive dance and musical-theater training afford committed dancers the opportunity to learn performance techniques such as jazz hands and the classical worm.
When they aren’t leading formal dance lessons, the studio’s instructors guide adults through Zumba and yoga workouts. All classes take place on the hardwood floors of a professional studio that features three air-conditioned dance rooms, a waiting room, and viewing windows through which tennis shoes gaze jealously at their sleeker counterparts.
