The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs have their sights set on making a second-half run to climb the Lone Star Conference rankings. Cheer on the squad, led by senior Megan McLain and junior Jamie Simmons, as they drain three-pointers, posterize defenders with tomahawk high fives, and put dazed opponents in a deep slumber with hypnotic dribbling. Upon the conclusion of the women's hard-fought sweat swap, basketball aficionados and fans super glued to their seats can stick around as the men's team takes the court to show off their high-flying athleticism and Charles Barkley impersonations. Led by seniors Jacquiese Holcombe and LaDarius Hall, this dream team–composed of players with the ability to dream and be part of a team–has already posted 13 victories heading into division play, and is hoping to inflict its dominance on opposing teams as fans clap in approval, shout out random lottery numbers, and melt the flesh of opposing fans with flaming foam fingers.

As an affiliate of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association, the Randall County Roller Dames challenge a lineup of regional rivals to fast-paced bouts of derby, eliciting cheers from an adoring flock of fans. The athletes sport helmets, skates, and tough nicknames based on obscure Cockney rhyming slang as they race around a circuit, elbowing and knocking away enemy skaters in a dizzying display of skill and teamwork. The Roller Dames exhibit a lasting loyalty to their home turf, not only through a series of six exhilarating home bouts, but also through yearly charity benefits for nonprofits such as Habitat for Humanity and Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The seasoned performers of Piccadilly Circus dazzle audiences of all ages with 90 minutes of acrobatics, comedic high jinks, and trained animals beneath the big top. Audiences gasp at high-flying trapeze artists swooping through the air with the confidence of a kite in a wind tunnel, as well as contortionists able to bend themselves into human bonsai trees. Death-defying motorcyclists roar into a caged globe to perform a 360-degree display of vehicular mastery. Gaggles of clowns coax out chuckles, and a trained elephant parades around the ring, occasionally stopping to memorize an audience member's phone number. General-admission seating surrounds the ring, allowing ample viewpoints from which to observe the boisterous spectacle.

Chaparral Ridge Golf Center's nine-hole golf course takes clubbers careening across an emerald landscape of fairways carved into the Texas countryside. When looped twice over, the course becomes a par 72 that measures 6,940 yards and rattles irons with nearly constant déjà vu. Rounds begin at the par 5, 525-yard first hole, where long hitters must measure their desire to reach the green in two against the risk of pushing or pulling the ball into a vast waterway that runs along the right side. Similar strategic decisions await at the par 3 ninth hole, where a bashful green hides behind a bunker, beside a small pond, and underneath a lifetime of trust issues. A somewhat lengthy layout when played from the tips, the course welcomes duffers of all abilities with four tee options.
