The name of Priority Health Chiropractic demonstrates what the staff values above all else: their clients' health. In service of this focus, chiropractic adjustments, nutrition and exercise recommendations, and full-body massage all work together to mend every element of patients' bodies. During massages, the hands of trained therapists help ease pain by clearing lactic acid and boosting circulation, banishing tension from the body like an exorcism performed with movie spoilers. The massage therapists flaunt a variety of specialties, from the general relaxation of Swedish and deep-tissue techniques to the more specialized, results-oriented approaches of deep-tissue and prenatal massage.

Under Dr. Fagman's direction, the spa's four medically trained aestheticians resurface skin and reduce signs of aging using lasers, radio frequency, and medical-grade microdermabrasions. Haven Medical Spa now carries Dr. Zein Obagi's new medical skin care line, and aestheticians wield Alma Lasers to reduce hair, boost collagen production, improve acne and sun damage, and say hello to one another from space.

The Spa's walls overhear more than just the sound of wrinkles evaporating. The soothing environs cosset clients with dim lighting, soft music, and the ambient burble of a water wall.

The staff at L.A. Massage and Spa understands the role privacy plays in crafting a serene escape. That's why aestheticians personally escort each guest from private lounges to pristine treatment stations, taking care to avoid other guests so that each client feels like they have the entire spa to themselves or like they're living the most relaxing episode of The Twilight Zone.

Guests shuffle through the 3,000-square-foot facility in robes and slippers to enjoy cosmetic treatments that foster wellness from the outside in. Laser hair removal and waxing services subdue unwanted stubble all over the body, and refreshing facials are customized to treat a number of skincare concerns, from combating acne to diminishing fine lines.

Further head-to-toe pampering encompasses detoxifying mud wraps and soothing massages tailored for the specific needs of pregnant women, athletes, and over-squeezed stress balls. Guests can follow up their treatment with an invigorating aromatherapy steam shower infused with a choice from 20 soothing scents.

Francesca D'Ambrosio's first job in the beauty biz was answering phones at a salon and spa in Naperville. Once she earned her cosmetology license, she jetted to New York to work alongside prestigious stylists and make her way to the top from the bottom of the barrel. Fortunately, her first gig as a stylist was anything but at the bottom of the barrel—she started at the Bumble and bumble salon, one of the Big Apple's hubs for celebrities, fashion-industry elites, and globetrotting wigs. She stayed in New York for about a decade, shaping the famous hairs atop Fran Drescher, Mark Wahlberg, Joan Jett, and Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas.

When she relocated to Oswego, Francesca opened a salon of her own. Located on Main Street in the historic downtown area, the space has the simple sophistication that befits a transplanted New Yorker. The black-and-white scheme extends to the walls, where portraits of Audrey Hepburn and other style icons supervise haircuts, keratin treatments, and color services.

A cadre of accomplished students mans hp: the college's three Chicago-area salons, where they learn the beauty trade while enhancing client appearances for less than at standard studios. Founded in 1979, the college instructs fledgling stylists in the latest trends and aesthetic remedies with products from Moroccanoil, Wella, and Dermalogica. At all three locations, sleek black styling chairs contrast with colorful bottles of hair products and OPI nail polish set amid the comfort of plush pedicure chairs. As students ply their skills on ravishing haircuts and clarifying facials, aesthetics pupils use carefully blended botanicals to add aroma, hydration, and palm-sized zen gardens to manicures and pedicures.
