The commitment to quality cuts at Hirsch’s Meats is evidenced in every hand-trimmed slab of meat, every handmade sausage, and every serving of fresh-ground beef that sits plump and tender behind the counters. These bona fide butchers have been at it since 1992, cutting and processing meats in-house and refusing to sell any meat that has been weighed down with water, fillers, or byproducts. Each tenderloin, rib eye, and top sirloin is guaranteed to be USDA prime or choice grade, and fresh Iowa pork and natural chickens are always Grade A, but it was the assortment of quality game and seafood that earned the store the Best Butcher Shop nod from D Magazine in 2010. With so much care put into their meats, Hirsch's staff certainly has their hands full, but that doesn't mean they just sell you meat and let you fend for yourself. On the contrary, the shop carries smoking woods such as sweet maple, hickory, and mesquite sweetwood blends, and shelves are stocked with seasonings and the store's own brand of sauces and marinades to ensure that local bib companies never go broke.
The crunch of salt under foot. Soothing strains of spa music. The taste of salt on the lips. These sensations enrapture visitors to Salt Escape's halo-therapy chambers. Claiming accolades from CBS DFW and NBC DFW, experts have designed sterilized chambers to mimic the conditions of ancient salt caves once thought to grant healing properties. Between walls, floors, and ceilings coated in a layer of negative-ionized natural rock salt, Salt Escape works to create a spa environment filled with toys, café tables, and a stereo system to soothe adults and children more effectively than a night-light covered in honey. Halo-generators fill the air with controlled bursts of crushed salt, which generates a microclimate and assuages respiratory and skin conditions. To facilitate comfortable treatment sessions, staff members beckon visitors to recline in zero-gravity chairs, which cradle spines to neutralize the effects of gravity and recent rugby tournaments.
Total Nutrition amplifies weight-loss regimens and fitness routines with a vast roster of vitamins, health supplements, and other workout boosters. Protein supplements, such as Lean Active 7 protein shakes, fortify muscles' tiny carpenters with the tools they need to build new additions, and multivitamins and health boosters spur energy levels and aid weight loss by infusing the body with the same extra nutrients found in unappetizing algae bars. Staff members, all of whom are certified sports nutritionists, also discuss goals, diets, and other needs with clients, and share tips on maintaining a healthy BMI or choosing the best triple cheeseburgers to use as dumbbells.
Ye Ole Butcher Shop's daily menu has boasted a lineup of delectable burgers and down-home barbecue eats since 1974. Kick off comestible expeditions with a buffalo burger, in which cheese, tomatoes, onion, and pickle form a leaning tower of flavor atop a freshly ground buffalo patty ($5.99), or gobble down a turkey burger for a heart-healthy meal or a Thanksgiving warm-up ($5.99). A plate loaded with an offering of barbecue chicken, ribs, links, or sausages and two sides of ranch beans, potato salad, coleslaw, or macaroni salad helps pacify growling belly beasts ($8.99). The weekday specials offer anything from wild hog and 12-point-buck burgers ($5.99) to rib eyes and fries ($8.99), great for carnivorous appetites and meat-powered robots.
