When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
As a boxing trainer, I saw so many individuals who wanted desperately to obtain the benefits from a boxing/kickboxing workout, but had that look in their eyes when they saw the facility. [They] loved the equipment, but were anxious about working out with boxers—not really knowing what to do and how to do it, as boxing is not a structured workout. Did I mention the contact that goes along with boxing—getting hit? With this in mind, I looked for models that would be enticing to this demographic and allow everyone to enjoy the unbelievable benefits of boxing: learning real self-defense [skills] while shedding pounds, toning muscles, and building functional strength and agility.
What special training do you or your staff have?
We have a background in boxing and Golden Glove fighters and trainers. In boxing, it's not just learning the skills, but learning how to obtain peak conditioning and strength for a real-life battle.
What is the experience customers can expect, and how do you make it special?
You can expect to have fun and and learn a skill. The atmosphere is welcoming and the people are energetic. Weight-loss, strength, agility, and cardio are just the side effects from learning. That leads to a fun workout.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Our website and Facebook have videos and a great deal of more information.
Meshelle, a certified personal trainer and Zumba instructor, has helped both individuals and groups as large as 400 people get in shape through high-energy workouts. Her classes at Fun Fitness Concepts run the gamut from Piloxing sessions that combine boxing and Pilates to Zumba courses powered by lively latin beats.
The professional trainers at Kingdom Fitness combine diverse fitness backgrounds in football, bodybuilding, and the U.S. Army. Together, they motivate clients to exceed their physical abilities through boot camps, fitness classes, and one-on-one personal training sessions. All levels of fitness are welcome, as the team will assess current conditions and devise a fitness plan tailored to each clients’ fitness levels and goals.
It doesn't take complicated machines, elaborate schedules, or cybernetic implants to get in shape. All it takes is determination, a plan, and a support system. Oh, and some kettlebells. That's the philosophy behind CrossFit, a no frills workout plan built on clients' drive to improve. After working their way up to the full regimen with the On Ramp program, members of CrossFit Racine begin a high-intensity syllabus of squats and deadlifts, seasoned with a dose of burpees and sandbag intimidating.
Anchor Fitness’s functional training techniques address clients' key desires, such as decreasing body fat, losing weight, and improving fitness skills. Programs include boot camp in an indoor or outdoor setting; an eight-week weight-loss challenge titled Biggest Loser; and a boxing and kickboxing workout called Fight Club. Personal-training sessions enable custom workouts and individualized attention. The staff also offers nutritional counseling to help clients achieve maximum results.
While many fitness gurus limit their gear to traditional hand weights and medicine balls, the inspired trainers at Accelerated Athlete also incorporate sledgehammers, tractor tires, battle ropes, and ladders into their exercise classes. Far from limited to life in the toolshed, these unusual components are the building blocks of heart-pumping exercise routines that confuse muscles into becoming stronger and bodies into becoming leaner. Trainers' encouraging words play an equal role, inspiring students to sweat through boot camps, power yoga, kickboxing, and high-intensity interval training tailored to each individual’s skill level.
