Just like at the beach, when you wade into Seafari Springs' zero-depth pool, the water will just cover your toes. Keep going, and the water's surface stretches farther and father above those toes, up to 12 feet at its deepest. Surrounding this pool are water-driven attractions designed for different ages. Little ones cluster around the Aqua Bloom, a blossom that sprays erratic streams of water from its center, much like a camel with holes in its humps. At Turtle Falls, a 13-foot waterfall douses visitors, while a wide swathe of grass nearby invites guests to let the sun lend its warmth or keep their coffee warm. Older kids zip down speed slides, tube slides, and a 130-foot long water slide. Meanwhile, the Oasis provides a variety of concessions to satisfy appetites.
Under the umbrella of the Addison Park District, Club Fitness regales guests of all ages with 44,000 square feet worth of exercise equipment, group fitness studios, and aquatic amenities. Amid the clang of cardio and strength-training machines, certified instructors lead members through a range of free fitness classes, including Zumba, yoga, cycling, Pilates, and aquatic fitness sessions. Seasoned swimmers, 17 and older, can splash about within a six-lane lap pool, and runners can train for upcoming races by looping around the indoor running track in dramatic slow motion with arms outstretched. Those more interested in relaxation can sweat away anxieties in the hot tub or sauna. Before changing clothes within the modern locker rooms, parents can drop their tots off with the friendly attendants at the onsite childcare area.

Apart from your business's main attraction, do you offer any "hidden" services or activities that visitors are always delighted to learn about?
Our incentive programs emphasize and reward effort, teamwork, heart, etc. We have special relationships with local, collegiate, and professional women's teams that offer our camps the opportunity for in-camp clinics and professional sports outings.
As the old adage says, "Stuff happens." What training do you and your staff have to stay ahead of the unexpected?
Our staff training is pretty intense, to the extent that we role play worst-case scenarios. We practice adjusting to different circumstances, including quick transitions from outside to inside, should we encounter extreme weather.
What is the one feature of your business that you're most proud of?
Our impact both on the fields and courts and off?our program emphasizes growth as an athlete as [much as] it does growth as a person.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
We are proud of the relationships we develop and maintain through the years with our camp families. Throughout these years, we have worked hard to create a customized teaching technique and unique understanding of how young girls best learn and thrive. The results are a program and environment that effectively foster their love for sports and fitness to last a lifetime. This is our passion. This is our mission.
Most pools are not designed for children, with their plunging deep ends, regular calls for "adult swim," and robust colonies of piranha. Not so at Swimtastic Swim School, where every aspect of the center's design caters to youthful aquanauts. After passing by the colorful front desk changing into their suits, kids rinse off in the warm water of the on-deck palm-tree shower. Once classes begin, swimmers dunk into the pool itself, ranging from 3.5 to 4.5 feet deep and heated to a constant, comfortable 90 degrees. In the lessons themselves, experienced instructors use the skills they learned in the center's 30-hour training course to lead small groups through the basics of water safety and proper swimming form. Regular open swims let kids show off their aquatic mastery to parents and friends and make unlimited use of the deep-end water slide.
Hidden Creek AquaPark's sprawling grounds swim with watery entertainment for guests of all ages, from kids waiting beneath the water playground's dumping bucket to grandparents reading a good book atop lounge chairs. Swimmers can slip down the winding slide or take the plunge from a drop slide, which spits them out into the deep end of a pool that gradually descends from its zero-depth entry. Meanwhile, kids can keep themselves busy building castles and multistory housing units in a sand area. After practicing swan dives and cannonballs off the diving board, guests can storm the concession stand or relax on the lawn.
